Sorry guys, i've been having one hell of RL crisis here.
No worries.

Turn 4: The bullets! They do nothing!

(Road Viper)

Stay at my post and keep all systems in optimal shape
[5]: you sit at your post, then realize, in a sudden stroke of genius, how to make the shield better! It now has a maximum of two shield dice, making it superior to Xecobian frigate shields (it has the same maximum shield rolls, while recharging faster).

Basic engineering [2/4]

(The Jolly Smew)

Follow the carrier, with facing.
"Wolfchild fire on the carrier's engines if possible, Nuker on the second frigate, left and right gunners, go berserk on those fighters. Engineering, watch those engines, we are basically mooning our enemies while we do this."

[3]: You stalk the Carrier.

Basic Piloting [2/4]

"Wolfchild fire on the carrier's engines if possible, Nuker on the second frigate, left and right gunners, go berserk on those fighters. Engineering, watch those engines, we are basically mooning our enemies while we do this."

(Roadviper)

Shoot at the remaining enemy Frigate.

[5]: You fire like crazy at the other frigate.

Shield resist roll: Shield:[6][1]=[7]. Damage roll:[AUTOFAIL].

Your bullets bounce harmlessly off the frigate's shields.

Basic Turret [2/4]

Seeing how nicely the fighters are lined up, Fire APIMGT at the three fighters trailing us.
[5]: DAKKADAKKADAKKA.

Damage [1][3]
Damage [4][6]
Damage [1][6]

Your firing leaves one fighter with a couple dents, one a flaming wreck, and one drifting.

Basic Turret [1/4]

Captain could you pilot the unshielded side of the hanger near us? Because then we could do a little damage...

(The Jolly Smew)

See if I can divert any extra power to the shields.
[3]: You manage to divert the toilet power supply to the shield. It doesn't seem to do anything though. On that note, now you've got the problem of how are you going to flush the toilets when they have no power.

No skill engineering [1/4]

(Captain Silo, Roadviper)

Come in behind the Jolly Smew, trying to get our gunners a clear shot at both the frigate and the carrier.

"Turrets, consider getting those fighters off the Smew."
[4]: You maneuver the RoadViper behind The Jolly Smew.

Basic Pilot [1/4]

"Turrets, consider getting those fighters off the Smew."

(Roadviper)

Fire at the carrier
[4]: You fire at the carrier.

Shield resist roll: Shield:[2][6][1][2][5]=[16]. Damage roll:[5][5]=[10].

Your impressive shooting lowers the shield by three shield rolls.

Basic Cannon [1/4]

(The Jolly Smew)

I fire at targets of oppurtunity, particularly any fighters or unshielded Capitol ships. If possible, I try to cripple the carrier's engines. If I can't, then there are always plenty of fighters to peg.

"You know, we could probably fly right into that carrier. Maybe expand our knowledge of Xecobian physiology and texhnology the hard -- I mean fun -- way."
[2]: You sit there, oblivious to the fighters on the Smew's tail.

"You know, we could probably fly right into that carrier. Maybe expand our knowledge of Xecobian physiology and texhnology the hard -- I mean fun -- way."

(The Jolly Smew)

"See guys, Teamwork, lets show those xecobians AND the other team what we can do"
"Oh and aye aye cap'n"

Fire my AAPMACS at into the carriers engines hanger, or failing being able to i either fire at the engine as per the cap'ns previous order, or assist cap'n in case he makes a pilot error (not saying you will, but id much rather halve the chance, whatever it is)
"See guys, Teamwork, lets show those xecobians AND the other team what we can do"
"Oh and aye aye cap'n"

[4]: You let lose on the hanger.

Damage [4][6]: You leave two large craters in the hanger. The ship is spewing gas (methane). And it's not likely anyone can land in that hanger anymore.

Basic Cannon [2/4]

"Aye aye, skipper. You're covered, Jolly Smew."

I will focus on downing the fighters targeting the Jolly Smew.
"Aye aye, skipper. You're covered, Jolly Smew."

[5]: You lay the pain on the last fighter.

Damage [2][6]: You cripple the engines.

Basic Turret [1/4]

(Roadviper)

Open up on the carrier.

[2]: Why would you open fire on the Carrier? It never hurt you before!

Joly Smew:
Shoot any thing that flies past our back with more then a toothpick as a weapon.

[6]: OH MY GOD THOSE CRIPPLED FIGHTERS HAVE WEAPONS! FIRE ALL CANNONS!

Damage [4][4][1]
Damage [2+1=3][5+1=6]

Total overkill. Not even a wreck is left behind.

Basic cannon [1/4], No skill missile [1/4]

[2-1=1]: The other frigate fires at The Jolly Smew with it's main guns! ...Missing again.

[2]: The frigate fires at The Jolly Smew with it's secondary guns! ...Missing AGAIN.

[4]: The Carrier fires at The Jolly Smew with it's guns! Hitting!

The Carrier is starting up the jump drive. Last chance!

Shield resist roll: Shield:[6]. Damage roll:[2].

The feeble attempts on your lives did not work. The shield isn't even phased.

The Dogfights continue.

No artwork this time, not feeling like it.

Aim the ship at the final frigate.

"APMIGTs fire at the carrier's jump drives, Wolfchild and Nuker, fire main guns at the other frigate."
"Roadviper, might you focus fire on the Carrier?"

Send a message to The Jolly smew telling them on how to increase their shields. Then see if I can optimize anything else on the ship.

Open up on the carrier's engines with all weapons accessible to me.

You guys really need to start asking questions before you act.

Normally shields cover the whole ship, yes, that means engines, jump drives, weapons... So smjjames will autofail against the shields and USEC_OFFICER will autofail if Paranatural doesn't bring down the shields.

Then why did I ask the captain to fly to the unshielded side?

There's no "Unshielded side".

Okay then. Is it possible to shoot down rounds fired by another craft or are you not doing rolls for those?

(Roadviper)

Keep the turrets targeted on the Carriers engines/jump drives, when the carriers shield fails, fire at maximum power.

Depends, can you stop fire with bullets? ???

I see what you're getting at. So those cannons fire plasma 'bullets'. The secondary guns are probably more conventional rounds more akin to modern artillery rounds in terms of size. It could be possible to shoot down missiles however.
