So I remeber clearly that in the editions before this latest series that draw bridges formed walls when raised, but in my latest experience they do not, did I miss a memo are am I just missing something because 80 dwarves just got trashed as did a very nice fort.
My question being, do draw bridges no longer for walls when raised?

You build a retracting bridge, not a drawbridge. You forgot to set raise direction.
