here is a list of what each of the small .exe file does
http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Utilities#DFHack

you'll need to mess with the configuration files if you have the dwarf fortress version 0.31.17, you'll find instructions for that on the previous page

"The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

DFHACK and .17 doesn't work ATM, please try again after it is updated.

"Nobody wants to live in Townbrush, and for good reason. Almost everyone that has come to Townbrush has been eaten, stabbed, crushed, drowned, hacked, incinerated, or beaten to death with an octopre skin backpack. When we're not under siege, we're being attacked by Forgotten Beasts. And when we're not being attacked by Forgotten Beasts, there's probably a zombie whale crushing someone to death in the dining room."

If you're using 0.31.17 SDL on Windows, look on the previous page and you'll find that I've located most of the offsets necessary for the common utilities - I'm already using dfcleanmap in 0.31.17 without any problems.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Guys, I appreciate the work, but 31.18 is supposed to come out tomorrow and I'll support that instead.
.17 will be skipped as a buggy release.

There's also some improvement to the memory.xml format ready for release - the ability to set inherited offset groups/entries as invalid. This will let me release partial offsets without them causing bad errors all over the place by marking the stuff that's not tested yet as invalid.

EDIT: better formulated ~_~

I came looking for .18 support and I see you're planning it. Thanks for the hard work.

Hey just wanted to say thank you to Quietust for the bandaid fix to get the dfvdig tool working again! It's the only one I use, and I can't imagine playing without it.

Also thanks to Peterix for continued work on the tools!

Did a little testing. dfreveal, and dfcleanmap both work, in addition to dfvdig, like daftfad said. dfprospector crashes, and will sometimes crash DF. I'm not familiar enough with to others to test them, though.
