From what I've seen, it usually only takes a few days, tops.

Anyone else have problems with newer mingw versions, i just cant seem to get a static dfhack.dll built without it linking to libgcc and mingw10.dll even with -static and -static-libgcc

What would be nice is a graphics lib which can read a DF install and translate map data from DFHack into a reference to a tile in a tileset if installed or a default 16x16 graphic with the relevant ascii on it. Essentially reading a DF tile and telling you that you need tile [xx][yy] in file xxx.png in order to draw it the same way DF does.

Does anyone know any good documentation on tilesets and how they tie into mapdata?
Eg. how could one use the info DFProbe provides to determine how that tile should be drawn; what graphic, which ascii, what colors ect..

The wiki didn't appear to have much info on this unfortunately.

The ascii is probably as static data somewhere in the DF executable. Colors need all the materials stuff to work... and DFHack doesn't read colors for materials yet. You'd also need building layouts/properties, items and so on.

Stonesense has its own list of colors for materials, and the look of tiles in general is not read from DF, but filled in from rules stored in XML files.

So how is the .13 compatible version of this coming?

I realised how much harder life is without dfprospector, dfdig and dfclean. Dfliquid too, if I don't want to spend 3 seasons bucketing a farm up.
