That thar would be the kind of thing that should be announced to the person who said ahead of time he'd be 4 hours late, for future reference.

Actually, he showed up while you were busy not being there.

I got disconnected. Assumed we'd given up for the night.

Nope, me Jervous and RAM were in there sitting in the damp, dark GT-cave waiting for people.

After two hours of waiting with only three players (one of which was AFK) I decided to call it a night. The session will be on Sunday.

Alternatively, what do you folks think of restarting the campaign, only at level 5 with a different story? I can't seem to figure out what to do next in the story we have right now.

If we start a new campaign, I'm going to play a wizard. A blaster type, with Swiss Army Knife capabilities.

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone happen to know of a metamagic feat that allows you to "bend" line-shape spells? Like, to change a spell that normally goes in a 100' line into a spell that goes in a 30' line, turns, and goes in a 70' line? And if not, can we homebrew one?

Split Ray had something to do with that, I think.

I came up with an interesting idea for a setting; The 'party' is actually a group of technicians who remotely control 'battlebots' to do incredibly dangerous missions. Each 'battlebot' is a warforged that gets a bonus feat at level 1 (much like a human), but that feat can only be spent on a 'body' feat, such as 'Adamantine Body' or 'Unarmored Body' or the like. Missions would result in a reward of GP and Power Crystals, which could be used to upgrade your warforged (using them as XP) or selling them for more GP.

For more variety, you could make your own starting stats for the Warforged, so long as they followed the formula for the basic one. (one +2, two -2's.)

Thoughts?

Split Ray is about shooting a second ray from your position in the same general direction... I want/need a metamagic that lets me turn a spell's "line" shape into a bent line. Or a line with several bends or that can go in tight circles would be even better.

As for the bots thing, would the action focus primarily on the bots, the technicians, or both (together or otherwise)? If the technicians go on missions, what kind of action is it to control the bots, or do we just program their AI (a la FFXII)?

Usually it'd be the technicians (with their own personalities) controlling the bots from afar in hazardous situations, but occasionally the technicians themselves would have separate missions. It's possible that you could choose between the two on most missions, but there would be at least a few where you would need the immunities of a construct, or the different skills of a technician.

We could hook up with the library for a while, go on quests to recover knowledge that would help us restore the fire plane.

We could spend a few sessions just meeting random encounters on the road, it could get dull, but we would be gaining xp and working towards a goal, ummm, what are we travelling to again?

We were just about to arrive at a settlement of some sort, those are always good for a conspiracy or two, or three, or four, or...

But, umm, I don't really know anything about ebberon, and all I know about wraforged is hearsay and the MMIII, or was it 4... but, not to worry, I am sure that it would be fine, except... Would there be any abilities that the technicians would be unable to imbue upon their puppets, psionics for example?

P.S.
Oooooh, I just remembered, I am sitting next to Illuminati *draws cards at random*
possible conspiracies:
New York is controlled by Chinese Campaign Donors -> Intellectuals:
The apparent city officials are all sponsored by a foreign power, lets say an elven settlement, that is secretly being controlled by mind flayers...
Society for Creative Anarchism -> Survivalists -> The Phone company -> Cycle Gangs:
There is an opposing political movement advocating freedom, their leader is secretly a lich who is obsessed with their own survival and is trying to cultivate influence with all factions that could pose a threat to the current stability, in case one of them takes over. But the lich is being manipulated by visions sent to it by an apparently innocuous union of mages that offer magical teleportation and communication services, who are being intimidated by a group of giants who are orchestrating the whole thing to make the city more interesting.
Robot Sea Monsters -> Professional Sports -> Loan Sharks
Well this is boring... The gambling houses secretly run the gladiator tournaments who breed and release monsters into the surrounding land to keep their battles relevant to everyday life...
Moral Minority -> Trekkies -> Nephews of God
Ummm, okay, so there is a cult of alienists. They released a series of epic poems that contain a hidden enchantment that can cause some people to be obsessed by them. These obsessed fans are secretly coordinating a public group that seeks to incorporate the virtues of the epic poems into civil laws...
Secret Masters of Fandom -> Fast food Chains
 The Mafia -> TV Preachers
 Feminists -> Hollywood
Underground Newspapers -> Health food Stores
                                                                 > The Gnomes of Zurich(seek to control the wealth of the world)
Libertarians -> Tobacco and Liquor Companies                                   \
                                                                                                   >Morticians
                                  The Bermuda Triangle                                   /
                                                               > The Servant of Cthulhu
The United Nations -> Parent/Teacher Agglomeration

I wish that I could live in this city...

Oh, sorry.
I forgot about the session.

If we started a new campaign, I would be fine with it.
Sounds like an interesting setting.

I guess I'm okay with that setting. I'll see if I'm interested after a session of it.
