Moar DnDs on the Interwebs 2.0
« on: June 06, 2010, 07:53:49 am »

New thread! Old players! Your RAGEPAWNCHER has evolved into a Dungeon Master! Sessions will be decided upon soon! Old players, post characters! Yelling! Below is the tale of this party. It will be updated as time passes.

Chapter I
A tavern, so wooden and bold, crashed.
Beneath it a hedge maze, mashed.
The barkeeper was killed by a snake.
At least it was only a fake!
In the maze was a gentle groundskeeper
Mad with power, the party yelled 'BLEEPer'
And caved in the keeper's skull.

At the end of the maze
There came an important phase.
A giant skeleton was attacking some Azer
They had barely escaped by the edge of a Razor!
It turned out the giant was on fire and sad
But fear not! The party was a smart hexad!
They put out the fires and gained a friend
What a wonderful way for a phase to end!

The Azer led them to the Giants' City
A place that was actually quite shitty.
For it was under attack by many ghosts
And they had the angry giants as hosts!
An elemental, bright as a pyre,
lead the charge with charismatic fire!
The cowardly heroes hid in a room
while outside the battle raged - KRAKOOM!
With a thunderous clap, Chief Brigslaw fell asunder
That mighty Giant, all bereft of splendor.

Chapter II
The Blazing Commander, four beings in one!
He told a story that made tears run.
He told a sad tale of ruin and strife,
A story about how his people had fallen
and stories of his great burden.
His people were dead, all gone away.
Their ship had left, all anchors aweigh!
The giants had killed them all dead,
the Plane of Fire was on its deathbed.
To each he gave Artifacts, value measureless.
He said they would help them, a claim not baseless.

The brave group was tasked with a Quest
One from which they could never rest.
They were to find a fiery old mage,
likely senile with age.
With no clear leader, the party did squabble
until finally, their resolve did wobble.
An arbiter was chosen, Nernas Desolute
He chose the middle path, ever resolute.

Bandits did jump them
But the party just thumped 'em
And got on their way, dogs trailing behind
The party was united, together in mind.
They would find the wizard, whatever it took!
On their path, however, lay many a donnybrook!

Spoiler: Egoist (click to show/hide)
I may do a Myth Weavers sheet...
Attempt one, (note that I am not even trying to abuse the shield spell yet!)

  100 chain shirt
 1000 mithral
 1000 +1
 1000 intelligent

Fire
 1100 Faerie Fire 3/day(lesser power)
 5400 Control Flames(ML5 Augmented) 1/day
Male of retarded flame
This mithral chain shirt is believed to have been enchanted by an inexperienced crafter who acquired unnatural means to increase their abilities. It offers effective protection without impeding most activities and possesses some powers. These powers include the ability to generate illusionary flames that silhouette subjects, making their visible presence clearer, and controlling flames the size of a small camp-fire or smaller by adjusting their size, sustaining them, or even moving them. However, these powers are under the control of the armour's intelligence. This intelligence somehow identified itself as male and has spent its existence methodically seeking to "get into people's pants". Deemed an undesirable quality in an item of clothing, this armour has been passed down through many, many, many owners, and has seen little use...

+1 mithral chain shirt, intelligent: 9600gp
12 Intelligence, 12 Wisdom, 10 Charisma
Lawful Neutral
Ego 6, Empathic communication only, 30 ft. vision and hearing.
Lesser Powers:
 Faerie Fire 3/day
Other Powers: (according to the rules, this should probably be under the wearer's control, but I will try to balance it by not sleeping in the armour...)
Control flames, 1/day, Augmented to 7th manifester level.(+2 ego)

So, what, this a party? Cool. Esori (who is totally not related to Eosri at all, you can tell because he's a human) will be going along.

Don't expect me to do a whole helluva lot of tanking, I'm built to use magic and maybe do some lame turning and that's about it.

Whats the use of a cleric if he cant tank like nobodies business?

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Fighter+Barbarian+extra rage+spiked chain+exotic weapon master+occult slayer="I take an AoO and attempt to trip"

There is a feat called, I think, domain spontaneity, probably from the complete divine, it might be worth a look at if you are a spellcasting cleric...

I wonder if it's possible to be so flexible that you can change your mind halfway through the spell.

There is probably something out there that lets you bluff people on their spellcraft checks to figure out what you are casting...

If I had 7 spare skill points, I could get Conceal Spellcasting at level 2. If I had 10 spare skill points, I could get False Theurgy by level 5. See here. Man, I REALLY wish more books had extra skill tricks, Complete Scoundrel is the only book that has any.
