Yes, I suspect a nuke would have helped a bit.

What was the phat lewt and the exp? Can I have my share? D:
500 experience, and the party gets to split 1 gold brooch, 1 studded leather armor (medium) and 2 Basilisk Fangs (Keen longswords)

The octopi, if you recall, were allies of the Forest, and came to their aid. Forrest just enchanted them to fly for a bit, but that wore off when Forrest died. The point of a boss battle is to use every resource a party has, so that they have to plan carefully. I'm just glad my first one didn't go so far as to make the wizards have to run in punching.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Actually, I *was* considering chucking my morningstar for a while there...

That was it! Also, we have a new member nowadays. Renault was looking for a D&D game and I invited her to join.

Yeah, still going to limit the party to 8 people though, that way I don't have to make every fight a veritable army.

I feel that it should be noted that Esori is primarily a spellcaster.
If Renault doesn't want to ruin the party's 'feel' then I would reccomend a bard, Wilder, or maybe a spirit shaman... or maybe one of those shujen-something-as, oriental cleric folk...

An Artificer would be cool.

Or just someone who happened to know some repair spells, magically.

Sorcerer, who takes that level's repair as thier 1st spell of the level

artificer would also work in that capacity

edit: or the gm could allow me to weld you back together ;D

Why give us fire-based items if not to melt extra armour plating the the 'orged?

We should probably consider a smattering of other-person buffing spells to help out the party's shield...
