I'm working on a game that I would like to get gamers feedback on. This is a freeware game, no strings attached. Is it acceptable to post a link to the game here?

For sure. There's a lot of indie games and commercial games advertisements, actually this IS a place to advertise and discuss games. I am interested, the name seems nice :).

Wow! You guys are great! Here's a screenshot:

1. You win by colonizing all of the sectors.
2. Should take about an hour to win on medium map and normal difficulty.
3. Tested on Win XP, Vista, Win 7 systems
4. Freeware game, no strings attached

I look forward to your feedback/suggestions. Here's the downloadable file:
Fangorodrim.zip (13 megs)

dwarfguy2, I plan to convert this to flash someday.

It's nice, but I think that when you win, it needs a little something more than a message saying "You win!".

I have a pretty odd effect, the screen re-sizes correctly, but the game is displayed to to the lower right:

I'm running Vista SP1, on an Asus F3 series (widescreen) laptop.

edit: also, when I press Shift (warp) I can no longer accelerate forward (but I can backwards, so I'm guessing these are supposed to be, pardon the pun, reversed?)

a1s, I'm surprised you can play it that way at all! try hitting Alt-Enter for full screen mode. Also, the ship isn't meant to be operated with shift held down, tap it and then you have 5 seconds before warp enabled mode wears off (as of v1.38). And the ship should function normally in warp enabled mode.

Awesome game.
I really like the concept.

Some ideas I have regarding research/ship building:

I can post some simple menu mock-ups if you want.

Spoiler: main screen (click to show/hide)

A couple of other things I'd like to see are multiplayer, probably through LAN and larger sectors.

Here are a couple of larger sector mock-ups.

Wow, you are like the most polite spambot ever!

Joking. Joking. I saved the galaxy on easy mode/small map. I have to say it's a pretty solid premise, and I'm not even a fan of RTS style games. It just needs to be expanded upon. More stuff to build and research, more variety in enemies, some music and maybe a few graphics touchups, and you'd have a damn good game on your hands. Right now it's just too simple, though, it seems like the game will play out mostly the same if I play it again. Oh, and sometimes Warp doesn't work on the first try (perhaps hold shift instead of tap shift?), and you should be able to destroy buildings, and perhaps salvage some of the cost. In case you place your drones poorly, or something.

Must... Resist urge.. to mock.... mockups.

Hmm, well, some quick googlefu found a seemingly dead website for your company, along with a definitely dead forum. Gentleman, we have a zombiebot. Where are the pirate ninjas?

Nice legalese on the EULA. Hmm, suppose I should fire up the game.

"5 minutes later"

Hmm, interesting. RTS + 2d space ship stuff. Silly and whimsical.
