Down the road from my house is a 'bull ring'. This 'bull ring' is a steel ring attached to the ground. It was used to tether bulls to be attacked/harassed by dogs without being able to fight back.
Well, to the right of the 'bull ring' is a black painted, wooden statue of a bull. It is a common misconception with the people on the island that this statue is infact the 'bull ring'.
I looked up the name of the town i live and decided to read its history on wikipedia. LOW AND BEHOLD, i found that someone had pictured the wooden bull statue and falsely labeled it 'The Bull Ring'! I was enraged and promptly edited the article, tagging the picture as "This isnt infact the bull ring, this is a painted black wooden statue of a bull. The actual bull ring is about 40 yards to the left of where this picture was taken".
I forgot about it but then remembered again and went to check on the progress.
Someone had changed it back to 'The Bull Ring'.

Maybe it was the way i worded the edit that upset the author, maybe s/he was an idiot. Whichever it is, to this day i have yet to use wikipedia on principle alone.

Last time I found out where somebody lived, they commented on my internet stalker skills and questioned how I developed them.
I found their street address using satellite pictures, their car, and Google street-view.
With sufficient information, anybody can be found.

I was on Wikipedia today, and somebody had vandalized the town of Brading's entry so that the image was pretending to be talking about some random statue instead of the real Bull Ring. I changed the caption back to 'The Statue of the Bull Ring', so hopefully this is fixed now.

On topic, I feel that Wikipedia is a good for gaining at least a basic understanding of things and as a starting point for research.
