Does anyone want some swords? I feel I have enough axedwarves for the time being and have the tech to ship some.

If someone could re-invite me to our alliance, that'd be spiffy.

Welcome back! Let us know if you need anything.

Any idea about his unit count? With swords/chainmail lying around I'd be surprised if he was defenseless.
He gets a few militiamen from time to time, but they all get wiped out by the next wave.

All Hail the Toady One!

We, the reformed elves of Riva have forsaken our pansy, tree-hugging ways and wish to submit our application to join the Slaves to Armok (just as soon as we can create a diplomatic unit). You can admire our carefully crafted fortress at -242,-261, not far from an excellent source of magma. All foes to Armok shall be crushed and their children butchered for their leather!

Riva out.

(Ha, seriously, thanks for pointing out this Illyria game..it looks very intriguing so far =) And I hope SW was the right quadrant? Glancing through some of the posts it seemed a mix of that and SE)

Welcome, Trinsic. Another elven one that joins our rank? Armok must have been smiling.

Let us know if you need any help!  :)

Has anyone else taken to thievery? I must say, it is very rewarding, perhaps moreso than raiding. Just got this with 29 thieves.

Anyway, I'd definitely like to know where/when the megacity will be as my settler will soon be ready.

Welcome, Myster. Feel free to ask any help!

This is so true. Thieves can greatly complement your raiding armies. The only drawback is they can't kill other units.

Personally I've found that there's only one threat to me in a 30x30 area. I could defeat them 1 on 1, but they're in an alliance so I'm robbing them blind while raiding the little people around me.

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard.
... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also, the devs are pretty funny: Q. Isn't that going to completely change the Illyriad Economy?

Yes indeed. It's the first book in a trilogy of books entitled "Whither Illyriad's Economy?".

Shit, it sounds pretty awesome. So how will this affect our plan on building megacity?

EDIT: I'm sure this will help us to implement specialist within StA! Judging from my title, I'll be doing leather-working.

Hmm, I wonder how diplomacy is going to work now. Is it alright to "battle" over territories, or is that declaration of war? Hmm. If someone plops a territory right next to me....meh.

Just thinking we should lay down our stance on it before it starts.

I think we have to establish within what radius (e.g. 3x3) a sovereign claimed by another player will be considered an act of aggression.

I don't think we'll be fighting over 'normal' tiles (Clay Seems, Lonely Peaks, Plains, etc.) for sovereignty. Judging from the mechanic of sovereignty, through which you will get a bonus based on the 'production slots' of the tile you have sovereignty on, the fighting will be over 'specialised' tiles (Abandoned Mineshaft, Ancient Forest, etc). And these special tiles are rarer than normal tiles.

EDIT: Please also check Sovereignty topic started by Akura in StA forum.

It totally is. Hoped that square would leave him alone so he could get other games.
