I've actually had a few dwarfs with the clean shaven trait, but I can imagine this would be unpopular.  Somewhat like having a beard now I guess  :o

From what dwarves do with their beards, I would say shaving is more like a sex-change operation.
Following that logic, Beardless would be the dwarven equivilent to "Gay" as an insult.
Also, beardless rights marches.
