Few things
(1) Make sure you're running it as an administrator
(2) Uninstall, then reinstall it.
(3) The error you're seeing happens to me quite a bit, ya wanna know what it's called? You probably know, but it's a memory leak! Oh the fun! Beyond steps 1 & 2, I can't really halp ya. Sorry <Insert sadface here>

re: Get XP I literally can't reformat and install XP because setupdd.sys is missing, which is also what causes memory leaks. It sucks.

I had holed up an entire home complex, except for one exit, which I just kept the door closed. Everything was barricaded to the maximum, and I had enough groceries to survive for a week, not excluding the other people I had with me. When I came back from a Weapons run, I closed the door, put stuff into the armory, then went to the Vault and slept.

When I awoke, it was to the sound of fighting. SCREAMING. It was in the NPC's room.
I broke the door open and found that a zombie had busted open the window, more were outside and already two of my companions had fallen to the hordes. I retreated, knowing that my skills were not spent on combat, but for other purposes. I soon found that the building was surrounded by zombies and zombie masters and skeletons. I was massacred after I took two running steps.

FUN!

I found a grocery store stocked to the brim with food.  I holed up in there and recruited Tori something.  I brought her back to the base, but it was late and I couldn't find her when I reached there, so I went in, blocked the door, and thought "Whatever, I don't care"

The next morning I found her zombie.  She had been killed and zombified right outside the door.

I'm saaad.

Finally got it. Found a workaround, I think to getting it. Just as well, I think I also found out what else has been getting in the way that was preventing me. HUZZAH!

Is there any way to push something through an open door?

Suggestion:Have doors open in a certain direction so they can be blocked off with a single closet (that or not allow diagonal movement when the tiles perpendicular to direction of movement are blocking tiles).

Another suggestion: Metal, ability to upgrade barricades and doors with metal, and ability to padlock doors.

Oh, wow, I've been looking for a game like this for a while.

I'm on the third day in my first game, took stamina as starting trait, so I've spent a lot of time running. Sleeping is a problem though, I usually just doze off in a corner and when zombies turn up, I take a running jump through a window and sprint through another house.

I suggest there be explosives, explosive zombies,
improvised walls, floor-barricades, and other construction materials.

As well as item crafting.
Item crafting would become a larger part of the game as pre-infection items become scarce.

Is there any way to push something through an open door?

Kick the door down. You'll lose the door, but you'll get a plank for it. And if you're pushing stuff around, you can just put something where the door used to be.

The does NOT work with windows. You can't push anything through a window, open, closed, or broken.

Oh dear, no matter what I try I keep getting the error that RS is installed from another location when trying to download 3. Halp?

It seems you have to delete all trace of it, and no matter how I try I cant find anything to kill. Maybe search companion will help.
Ok, I used search companion on every folder, no dice.
