The one thing that I loved about Captchas is that occasionally, they would make a dirty word. If I was really bored, I would intentionally fail them until I got some kind of obscenity.

The most popular Captcha these days takes words from books and translates them to digital format. If there's a word it doesn't understand, it puts it in a Captcha for being something that computers don't understand. If it's making dirty words, it's taking them out of books XD

Who made it common usage? I will hunt them down, tear out their guts, and feed them to the carp for making it common to remove critical detail from lists.

What is more understandable:

You must include Red, Yellow or Blue, Green, and Orange.
You must include Red, Yellow or Blue, Green and Orange.

Now, change the order:

You must include Red, Green, Orange, and Yellow or Blue.
You must include Red, Green, Orange and Yellow or Blue.

There is now an evident conflict between "Orange, and Yellow or Blue." and "Orange and Yellow, or Blue.", since you can no longer tell what one it really is.

In my mothers language, it is a rule to ommit the last comma. We avoid the confusion by using correct sentence composition or by being more descriptive. I am still forgetting, I can use that comma in English.

I drink Smirnoff, too, but that's just because when I started drinking in high school I let my older university friends pick out the booze for me, and I don't bother trying new things.

Captchas are a necessary evil, but I still hate the ones that have all the letters in the background overlapped over, so you can't tell if it's supposed to be part of that captcha or not.
