The lake sounds fairly tame. Natural resources and animals are about. The river sounds like tons of Fun™. The Volcao sounds like the most hospitable.

I vote the volcano first, and the peak second.

For the last two slots, I think it would be nice to have a farmer and a military dwarf.

Play rules: you can choose what to do 8 hours at a time per day. 8 hours is spent sleeping, and 8 hours is spent eating/resting/hauling/traveling.  You may work two 8hours shifts but there is a price, you can even work all 24 hours of a day but you might go mad or your bladder might explode.

Hit e once you are ready to embark, hit G to name your group, hit F to name your fortress in advance

Got caught up in Fallout, my stat/item post follows:

Name: “Doc” Canalan
Profession: Doctor/Surgeon
Personality: Insulted the wrong people at the right time.  He is an extremely competent doctor who can essentially run any hospital given to him.  He gets angry if someone tries to interfere with his work; he always knows best.  He is forty-three years old and has a grand goatee.  He is quiet.  He is exceptionally tall for a dwarf at 5’5”.  His hair and eyes are brown.  Dependable, intelligent, and hardworking.

Attributes:
Strength (+0)
Perception (+1)
Endurance (+1)
Charisma (+1)
Intelligence (+2)
Fine Coordination (+3)

Bone Doc (3) (1)
Suturer (2) (1)
Wound Dresser (2) (1)

I think I read 2 solid votes for the volcano so unless the rest outvote it (In which case i will modify this post) here we go. Others have not solidly voted just proposed ideas so i opened a poll....

Also Neyvn you can make a guy or have me give you a random one and still join up and play.

You have arrived. After a journey from the Mountainhomes into the foreboding wilderness beyond, your harsh trek has finally ended. Your party of seven is to make an outpost for the glory of all your civilization.
There are almost no supplies left, but with stout labor comes sustenance. Whether by bolt, plow or hook, provide for your dwarves. You are expecting a supply caravan just before winter entombs you, but it is spring now. Enough time to secure lodgings, ere the Nightwings get hungry. A new chapter of dwarven history begins here at this place. Strike the earth!

Scene

The muddy wagon wheels come to a stop and they sink deeply into the mud. The swamp ends in the south, gnarled mournfull trees rise out of the pools of muck and mud in the narrow flat clearing before the bottom of the volcano starts to rise up nearly into the clouds. The fogbanks obscures the top of the volcano. looking around you have come to know some of your party, but the other 2 have mostly kept to themselves and remain a mystery.

On the way here, more than one slow lumbering zombie was outpaced, and mysterious plantlike mounts have shifted at the approach of the group, not to mention the swooping of bats overhead during the night.

1st of granite day one...
Everyone is accosted by blood gnats but is otherwise in high spirits.

There is a rocky volcanic slope to the north, a swamp just to the south. scattered trees are all around, muckroots grow sparsly and there is also some rat weed to be seen.

The following dwarves are idle
Doc
Urist the brewer
Ochita the miner
Cog the fisherdwarf
Nirur the stoneworker

Right chums, let's do this.

Canalan pulled his nice boots out of the mud. Again. He swatted off the infernal gnats. Again.
With a sadonic smile, he says, "It seems that we have arrived at our destination.  We should find a good solid cliff to dig into before these gnats drain us of blood."

Lokii there is 2 more slots open to the first characters I approve.

Nevyn that guy is not done right please reread the directions on page one and try again, double check by comparing your guy to the other guys. NOTE: I based the attributes of of the link I gave but am using some slightly simplified ones ( I hope that does not just further confuse)
