by then, all alcohol drinkers will either be Dwarvenly skilled, or almost-dead after 5+ drinks.

I had a friend that used to desecrate imported German hefewiezens and the such with everclear.

Still tasted like beer, but man, did it put you out of your senses in a hurry.

I doubt anybody will beable to make a beer of that potentcy without making it taste like something that leaked out of a dumpster.

I knew a guy who drank everclear alone once.
Not something he did again.

That depends on what you mean by "drinks". Technically, "drink" is a standardized unit of alcohol, although generally it's just dropped into the loose equivalents of a pint of beer, a cup of wine, and a shot of liquor. If you're talking about a pint of 150 proof beer, then most people would be close to death after a single drink, if for some incalculable reason you mean a cup, they'd be pretty drunk after one, and if you're treating it like hard liquor (which makes sense given the amount of alcohol in it), they'd probably be fine, if pretty drunk, after 5 shots worth (which would come out to around the single cup of wine)...

I spiked a glass of guinness with some vodka once, tasted horrible... I was already half drunk at that point though... Fuck I need to drink more, it's been over a month since I've had any alcohol, except for the 12 pack of cheap beer I drank to get through watching Avatar THE ADVENTURES OF THE XENO-LOVING TRAITOR AND THE CATSMURFS.... D:

But, according to the full article, the "extreme beer" actually tastes decent (which makes sense when you consider the labor and expertise that goes into it; it's not just some insane wino with a few 12 packs and some dry ice making it... although that gives me an idea :3 ).

Ah yes, the hit THE XENO-LOVING TRAITOR MURDERS THE GREAT COLONEL MILES QUARITCH, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!

You know, this proves beer making methods are still improving. We have had alcohol since ancient Mesopotamia, and we are still getting better at making it!

50% sounds almost toxic. Any further and you're practically drinking robot fuel.

Not really, I had a bottle of 80% absinthe and it was actually quite pleasant to drink although it did take the unprepared by surprise.

The strongest thing I've ever had was a generic grain spirit with an unpronounceable name of about 60%.

The absinthe black tunnel 80% is absolutely delicious, and I have a Bulgarian friend who has ample supply of a lovely 60% "rakia".
Not all strong alcohol taste bad. Actually, those two example are more much subtle and refined hen our average Smirnoff.

My favourite spirit to drink thus far has been Wood's Old Navy Rum, which is strong and flavoursome.
Damned expensive though.

Haven't chemists had access to 100% pure ethanol for decades(maybe centuries)? So if you started with than and then added flavours and stuff rather than the other way around, removing the unwanted bits from regular ones...

Can't go over 95.5% with normal distillation, so anything higher is likely to be quite expensive. Oh and you'll also need to store it water-free...
