I shoot Spartan dead, then move to engineering if possible, and if possible play repair 1 on the right engine. If he moves, I follow him, then shoot him dead, then move to engineering and repair the right engine. If he somehow does not die (having moved or not) this turn, then I stay with him, and do not run off to engineering.

Reverse Psychology works man. It works : :D

Anyways, my new action will be:

I move to right pod, and use repair 1 on the right laser.

I discard a heal.

Typically, you use it during your turn as a sort of prevention measure, not when the attack actually happens.
