Players may not enter a section occupied by an enemy player. If two players attempt to move into the same section, the player that was closer arrives first. If they were even in distance there is half chance for each to arrive first.

Presumably the last two sentences are meant within the context of the first one.

Here's a good way to visualize it. Each portion of the ship counts as one move. Thus if you want to go three spaces, you move into each space in between before you get there.
