This is the story of Tath Enerane, a tale told for centuries, a tale of courage, bravery, and blood.
Chapter One.
Tath had never really trained with her pistol or her sword, but whenever she used them, she seemed to excel. She could fell wolves and harpies without a sweat with either. On the 26th of [illegible], she was in the town tavern, sleeping off the previous nights drinking, when the leader of the town shook her awake.
“Tath, wake up. I’m sick and tired of these goblins. you seem to be skilled with your weapons, so I’d like for you to go to that horrible place, Ghoulcleaned, and slay their leader, a monitor demon by the name of Momuz Vucarostar.”
“You… you want me to kill a demon?”
“Yeah, though getting in there shouldn’t be hard. It’s the getting out part. I hope their riflemen aren’t as accurate as they say. On the way in, they won't attack you, as we're at a ceasefire with them at the moment.”
Tath swallowed hard at his words.
"All... Alright, I'll go. But you owe me big time."
"Great!"
And with that, Tath set off on the beginning of her adventure. It took her a days travel to get to Ghoulcleaned, eating what she could kill on the way, as she forgot to pack food and water for the trip. She arrived, and a dwarf promptly walked up to her. He struck up a chat, and was ranting on and on about things Tath didn't care for. She finally interrupted, "Where's the demon?" The dwarf said he didn't know, making Tath frown. She continued on her search. She entered the first tower, seeing many dwarves, yet no goblins. Were they all away? She didn't know. She did know that none were there. She heard scuffling, and ducked into an outcropping, hiding herself from view. The next thing she knew, she saw a truly horrible sight. A monitor twisted into a humanoid form. She could see the white bone of it's ribs. It's veins pulsed and bulged, and were of a sickly green color. She decided that it's blood might not be so healthy to her. It was a pitiful thing, all skinny and weak, yet large, nearly three times her height. She waited for it to pass before showing herself. "I am Tath Enerane, demon. I would love to get to... know you." She said with malice in her voice.
"I am Momuz Vucarostar, law-giver of Ghoulcleaned. I-"
"So civilized." She drew her sword. "Any last words, foul beast?"
"I do not care if I am to die. I have no family to speak of. Not a soul shall care."
"Good. I thought I'd feel guilt after this."
Tath hacked at the demon to no avail, while the demon got in a few good hits. Tath thought up a great idea. She bolted away from the demon, which followed. A bullet hit her in the leg, but she ran faster still. She reached the bottom of a flight of stairs, but the demon locked her wrist with it's own. She struggled in vain to free herself. She turned and shattered the demons arm bone, but it still would not let go. She grew weary. The demon constantly proclaimed it's name, shrieking at her with its piercing voice. She shattered many of it's bones, but to no avail. She found that she couldn't stand up, and her eyes could barely stay open, she was so tired. A rifledwarf stood in front of her, just out of reach, firing shot after shot at her, all pinging off her armor. She growled, and shattered the demon's skull, but the beast would not let go. Fueled by rage, Tath batted the next two bullets out of the air, and screamed curses at both the rifleman, and the demon. She broke damn near every bone in that demons body, but it still refused to let go. It's bones were practically liquefied by then, save it's left hand, which it used to hold her in place. Finally, Tath delivered the killing blow, shoving her blade, and most of the demon's skull into it's brain. She shrieked with laughter, and gathered up it's corpse. She bolted out of the tower, and into the harsh daylight. She thought she'd never see it again. Suddenly, bullets whizzed past her. She yelped, and bolted north, out of their line of fire. She began to laugh. She laughed all the way home. She couldn't move very fast, as the demon was a huge beast. She still managed. The first thing she did was take a bath in the river, but the demon's blood refused to leave her skin. She sighed, and assessed her wounds. They had mostly healed, because most were bruises, but her leg had been cut pretty badly by a bullet in her escape. She concluded that she'd have some wicked scars. She dressed, and fell asleep on one of the tavern beds.
When she awoke, the tavern was bustling with people chatting about her recent success at Ghoulcleaned. Many admired her as she lay on the bed, half asleep. The village leader looked at her, and walked over.
"Wow, Tath. I'm impressed. You killed it. All on your own. How do you feel?"
"Sore. Sore and annoyed. Where's my reward?"
"All in good time, Tath. All in good time." At this, he grinned fiendishly. "Oh. I have something else for you to do for me. I want you to kill a dwarf by the name of Datan Glazeurged. He's also in Ghoulcleaned. Good luck."
Tath plopped back onto the bed. "I hate you, Ecen."
Most of it is horribly written because I suck at writing sometimes.
And yes, the same guy has given my two different quests to the same place.
