I needn't have bothered, I soon see a stream of Dwarves carrying clothes, having merrily looted the body of their fallen comrade. 0_o THAT is their priority, not burial, theft?! XD

Ditto. Seriously, looting bodies is an ethical nightmare? I've ordered the execution of easily a hundred and probably more POWs, purged the animal population on this map, and drown offensive dwarfs in magma, dead dwarfs are only a nuisance if they were useful to me.

Point the first, yes, as a matter of fact their first priority is goods, not their buddy's body, especially since there's one corpse and lots of clothes items. Point the second, they aren't going to bury the deceased without a place to bury him; make and build a coffin/sarcophagus/casket for the deceased.
