The undead begin the task of chopping trees. Unfortunately, many most use their hands as you do not have but a few axes! They manage to cut down 32 trees.

You assign fifty undead to cut trees, while one hundred begin construction of a wall, and the rest begin construction of a moat.

Thirty humans begin training with scrounged weapons. Twenty train with swords, while ten are able to find spears. Limited armor is found or made for all thirty.

I disagree. Zombies are terrible at making weapons, and generally pretty bad at ranged combat.

We'll have plenty of bodies once we come under attack.

We also need some humans to scout the area around our keep, looking for, let's call it, 'resources'. Horses, graveyards, abandoned mines, elves, carps, dragons, one rings et cetera.

We need to set up zombie ambushes.

If a zombie army attacks in the open, then they will be seen, anticipated, and struck down without doing any damage.

A zombie, however, can survive buried underground or submerged for a long time.

Bury some zombies lightly, so they can come out and perform surprise attacks.
