is it possible to take EVERY SINGLE THING except for dwarves, plump helmets, oaks, and soil out of the game? to make sort of an eden, where funny little bearded nekkid people run around and beat eachother with their fists? I want to do this, so that I can slowly but surely mod in my own things, and see what the world does.

Sure. Just, go into the raws and start deleting entrys.

Not sure about getting rid of all the stone types though, I think the game will generate the rock layers as generic "rock".

I tried taking EVERYTHING out once, and the rock was so confused, it became EVERY SINGLE TYPE OF ROCK AT ONCE. so now, i will just take everything away except granite.

hmm, so I DO need vermin. probably butterflies, yow know? eden.

wait, would taking out all weapons result in training fists? gotta look in on that.

Might want to just leave one of every type of thing just to make sure, then scale it back from there.

I'm thinking that deleting the wagon entry would probably make the game crash.

I have just tried it, and am having trouble with currency, since I took all metals except iron away. I tried putting IRON for the currency, but it does not work.

also, I took all weapons away except for picks, but the entity file says that the picks do not exist. is this because I changed the names of the files?

First off, nice project.
Second, I'm sure wagons have a token that prevents them from breeding.
Lastly, yes, changing the file names means the game can't find stuff. They need to follow the [Thingtype]_[Thing] formula.
Hope I helped.

hey, jordrake. thanks for the compliment, but I think you misunderstood. I only changed the name of the DF folder itself. so DF 3.1 whatever is now....

EDEN MOD!

also, could I use the same creature for multiple civs? i want to just change HUMAN to DWARF and GOBLIN to DWARF. they would not be exactly equal you see. the three would be mountain dwarves, hill dwarves, and cliff dwarves.

Ah. Then no, changing the folder name wouldn't affect anything.
As for changing the goblins and humans into dwarves, just change the creatures in their entity entries.
