Echocity (Succession/Genesis 1.8)

WARNING!  SPOILERS WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THIS THREAD! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I just generated a 2000 year world using Genesis 1.8.  I was hoping for some epic wars, but instead I got an interesting dwarven civ.

They founded a city in year 1.  It was destroyed in year 5 by a goblin civilization led by a
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They have no other cities.  And yet almost 2000 years later they appear to still be going strong.  In legends mode they routinely appoint kings, queens, generals, liasons, and diplomats.

Here's the world history info for the civ:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As Deon pointed out in his Genesis mod thread, the rulers started off worshipping the god of fortresses, war, and victory.  But when the mountainhome was lost, they lost their faith.  After wandering in the wilderness for a few hundred years, the dwarven rulers began to worship the god of blight.  An evil tradition that has continued to this day, almost 2000 years after these dwarves became wandering exiles.

We have embarked on the old mountainhome with the help of Embarkanywhere.exe.

There is currently a bug associated with mountainhomes such that all stone walls under the large open entrance are automatically smoothed.  This includes the caverns, so don't be surprised by the massive starting wealth or the autosmoothing of anything dug underneath the mountainhome.

Here are the rules if you want to play:

To get a turn, request a turn.  You will be put on the turn list.

You can play up to 1 full year, spring to winter.  You have 1 week to do this, after which the save game must be uploaded.

If you fail to upload, the next person will revert to the last posted save.

When you are done with your turn, PM the next person on the list to let them know it is their turn.

After your turn, do some sort of write up.  Even if you are horrible at writing, and don't have much time, at least put up a list of major events that happened during your turn.

Preference to get a named dwarf goes to those who sign up for turns.  I don't know if we will get many migrants since there is no mountainhome.

Try not to to kill the performance of the game on purpose, Single digit FPS is no fun for anyone.

The basic theme of the fort is long exiled dwarves worshiping evil god have finally found their ancestral home.  They are returning to reclaim it and reforge a dwarven empire focused on bringing blight across the land.  Therefore a strong military and starting wars is encouraged.

Mind you find me an aspid dwarf? Make me brewer/grower. Fine brews with a bit of daily poison for everyone. That's my special recipe :P.

P.S. You should be OK with coal now, due to the popular demand Black Lung is no longer in so no longer you will get the bug with evaporating artifacts and diseased miners as a feature...

So a brewer/grower, a miner, and a smith.  Arni, you can only get 5 levels of mining.  You still have 5 skill points left.  Want anything in particular?

@Deon
Actually, I kept blacklung in in modified form.  I got rid of the fixed temperature, and raised the boiling point to 11000.  I'm hoping this will let the dark coal stay solid and safe, but if it is heated, boil and cause blacklung.  I've got an idea for weaponizing blacklung, and if I make a bunch of mugs out of the stuff, I'll have more than I ever need.

It would be nice if you didn't make any of obsidian dwarves woodcutters/herbalists. I want SOME wild plants to survive :P.

P.S. Because it's usually like:

Woodcutter McObsidiandwarf: "Oh look what a lovely rabbit, let's fry it for dinner."
Throws a fireball.
Everybody: "Oh look what a lovely forest fire, now the whole forest is fried for dinner."

I've always wondered how it would work to make the obsidian dwarves sentries, and have a small, forbidden pile of booze near the entrance.  Can obsidian, gloomer, or aspid dwarves attack up or down z-levels?

Sounds surprisingly similar to the history of the Dwarves in Tolkien's novels.

Can I be an Axedwarf, preferably Steel caste?

I think guys should roll later to get those :). They are really rare. Although once I've got two in my starting group.

The only time I got two in my group, they had the worst physical stats imaginable.  It seems like I get steel dwarves more often than gloomers though.

I updated the second post with lists of the starting seven and a player list.

We still need 3 more people to get going.

But seriously.  No one interested in taking turns except for Deon and me?
