Stick em all to Hauling and Cleaning and Dump every single floating rock outside/under a DAS, or create an array of stone stockpiles for your masons to use when building walls/towers outside. Helps tidy up a lot.

Traps don't do much to creatures which ALL have flying AND trapavoid.

I like to make my access idlers start a subterranean fort on the lowest cavern level. Make sure not to send down any equipment that isn't necessary. Seal it off from the surface.

You need more soldiers, more megaconstructions and a mechanical obsidian casting machine ready for when you dig too deep. 

Or a sealed of backup fort sounds neat, like what Bishop36 suggested.

After about 2 hours of playing and creating a solid fort I end up with a shit ton of ilders, I don't know what to do with them cause I really don't really find a need for them.

Define "solid fort". What industries are set up? What militaries are set up?

Ok so you've got a fort set up that can feed its population and presumably defend against invasions to a certain extent. Now what do you want to do with this fort? Architectural expression (megaprojects)? Military challenges? Superior export industries? Mad Science? Myself, I go for wealth - exports and engravings.

Engrave your mining system and dump all the ugly rocks in the way.  It will keep them busy a ridiculously long time.

Or start building giant towers and set their floors all to stone stockpiles.  That will keep them from idling even longer.

Obviously your projects are not mega enough!

Set them to all be masons and build gigantic structures out of stone blocks.

Arm them all with the finest steel weapons and armor and have them try to defeat hell itself.
