im not saying you should kill the player, just saying your reasoning is wrong, you could do something like, the human is the aggressor so i help the elf.

Whoops, I thought I'd posted.

I look over the orc in front of me a few moments, then head towards the edge of the riverbank, and start scanning the opposite shore, trying to determine where I am. "There has to be a reason the Inn is opposite of the settlement, with no bridge between the tow. Where the hell would the people who stay there come from? An Inn can't operate where there are no travelers."

"One would think that they come by boat, but I don't see any signs of a dock or where they got pulled on the banks." "Maybe if it was a steamboat....." His thoughts trailing off, Damaig heads towards the Inn.

Sargoth watches Damaig head off and stays, crouched by the river and considering, watching for any signs of a way to cross.

Turn 2
Looks like sharo things are flying every which way in the tavern right now, you might have a large bill if this keeps up.
Note also, If it is an npc getting hurt, i treat the dammage roll as the player trying to cause damage, while if the player is getting damage i will do it as though the player is trying to avoid , (3-5) on damage causing (2-4) on damage stoping, effect how much damage, 2, or 5 means no damage, and 1 or a 6 are obviously epic fail and overshoot

Quote from: Flintus
Fire the repeater crossbow at the human before he can act making sure to keep my distance.
[3+1(elf)+1(firearms)] You fire your repeating crossbow at the unnamed human your shot is dead on (dodge 4-1(perfect shot)+1(defensive)), the human barely manages to to dodge the dart, in doing so he allows you to gain some distance, (5), your crossbow spring reloads itself perfectly allowing you to squeeze off another one. (4 +1(elf), +1(firearms), -1(second shot in turn)), the shot flies true (5 +1(defensive)), the human performs a backwards flip to avoid it, (4 landing), however he  moves backwards with this maneuver, breaking a chair, (4 luck), luckily it just misses kilakan, who is moving behind the human. (6), your crossbow,s spring reloads it, however it also jams, untill it is fixed you will need to pull the string back by hand. (3), you stumble while moving back, lucky for you the human was forced backwards.

Quote from: RNG
I enter the inn without moving into the river, if at all possible. I don't think getting my volatiles wet would be a good idea.

(3) well, the inn is on your side of the river, so you get into it just fine, you observe an elf madly running backwards while shooting a smell hand crossbow.

Quote from: smj
His thought trance ((you know, when you are really concentrating on something)) broken, he looks at Sargoth " Names' Damaig. I have no clue why I'm here, or any of us. I was working on something in my camp and at the same time I got a huge idea on an invention, I guess I appeared here." Taking off the hard hat and gesturing at his backpack and supplies "At least my supplies and everything else is here as well, somehow."

I suppouse get up (unless I'm already standing) and pick up my supplies and backpack. At the same time, notice the human trying to kill the elf.

Standing up, you tell sargoth  "Names' Damaig. I have no clue why I'm here, or any of us. I was working on something in my camp and at the same time I got a huge idea on an invention, I guess I appeared here." "At least my supplies and everything else is here as well, somehow.", (6), you decide you need a drink, so you head into the inn, and notice a human wielding a pair of vicious axes, beset by an elf with a crossbow (perception 4), you manage to spot that the elf is running from the human, so you draw your blade and hack at the human (4+1), (dodge 4-1(focusing on other opponent)(no defensive (focusing on other opponent)), (6) the blade delivers a vicious hit, cutting his right tendon and smashing his shoulder, it also rebounds back (4) you manage to hold off from hitting yourself.

Take out Two daggers, throw one at the Hummie, then walk towards the fight, slowly and menacingly, growl.

You notice a human barely dodge two crossbow darts, and get his arm mangled mid flip, you are also barely missed by one of said darts. You decide you don't like the smell of the human and whip out one of your daggers releasing your grip from it as it swings towards the human. (5), you aim the dagger spot on, (4-1(preoccupied)(-1pain)(-1 perfect shot), the human, does not dodge out of the way in the slightest, (1) unfortunately however, your dagger hits with it's point slightly down, the human is barely scratched)

(6), in the tail of this, you whip out a second dagger and move to engage him, unfortunately, you do so a bit exuberantly and let the dagger fly (1), straight at flintus (3) who just barely manages to dodge out of the way  (6), flintus reflexively grabs the dagger, spins 360 degrees with its momentum, and releases, you attempt to dodge your own dagger (3 +1 (defensive)), you barely manage, with the dagger embedding into the wall, (3), you are too shocked to engage the human right now.

Quote from: Paranatural

I look over the orc in front of me a few moments, then head towards the edge of the riverbank, and start scanning the opposite shore, trying to determine where I am. "There has to be a reason the Inn is opposite of the settlement, with no bridge between the tow. Where the hell would the people who stay there come from? An Inn can't operate where there are no travelers."

(6) You scan the opposite bank for a means to cross the river, you notice some beached kayaks on the other side, in you exitement you deicde you want one, you jump into the river and attempt to swim across (3+1 str vs current), you notice that the current is too swift, and start your strong paddling back to shore on time to get back without getting lost.

Quote from: mad human
The human will attempt to close with the elf, if unable will throw an axe

Quite unable to get close to the elf, and injured to boot, the human throws the axe from his still good hand at flintus (1-1(throwing a non throwing weapon)), his back swing connects with his own back (no dodge), (4), ho gores a hole into hos back, barely missing the spine, the human is bleeding profusely (5 luck), fortunately for him, the axe is not stuck.

Place my foot on the humans back to pin him down and point the tip of the blade at his jugular, attempt to reason with him, shout "Drop your f*king weapons, now!". When the reasoning with him fails, try to knock him out or disable him otherwise.

I just realized that both me and Flintus are aiming at the humans throat. I was thinking of questioning the guy, but chances are that won't happen.

Retrieve my daggers, steal some beer off of one of the tables, and duck out of the inn.
I'm the kill, em when they don't see you, and or are incapacitated, not the head-on brawl type.

Oh yea, btw i have decided to change combat again, as i told everyone i will be tweaking this untill it fit's right
Aiming at a specific body part requires a perfect at range at a 4-5 at melee. And takes some time and if you don't get it, you get a penalty to hit.
1st roll to attack, second roll to dodge, 3rd roll to damage, 4th roll to resist damage (only if you are wearing appropriate armour)

At the end of the turn, smj is almost a killer, paranatural might be able to make friends with the tinker, and kilakan is thinking over whether or not he should trust the human.

Quote from: Flintus
Manually pull back my crossbow string back and then reload and fire at the humans throat.

{4 You don't get racial or skill bonuses for aiming at a specific body part}, You line up you're crossbow and when you think you have his throat in your sight, you shoot. {3 +1 elf, +1 Firearms -1 Imperfect targeting} The shot heads, almost unerringly in the direction of the human. {Dodge, 2 +1 defensive -1 pain -1 demoralised from self inflicted wound} The human failed to dodge so completley that the dart may hit im in a vulnerable area anyway, Roll to Crit {1, no epic fail}, Roll to damage {3} You'r dart sticks into ihs torso, just missing his heart and lungs, the human is loosing blood at an alarming rate. {3} You pull back the string of you'r crossbow, the second to last dart drops into the firing slot.

Quote from: smj
Place my foot on the humans back to pin him down and point the tip of the blade at his jugular, attempt to reason with him, shout "Drop your f*king weapons, now!". When the reasoning with him fails, try to knock him out or disable him otherwise.

As the human is not on the ground you can't put you're foot on him, however, this does not stop you from trying to pacify him. You yell at him to drop his weapons (intimidation){2 +1 he is seriously wounded}, you might have succeeded in pacifying him, if flintus had not shot him while you were trying Ho makes a feeble attempt to throw you off, so you try ti kick him where the sun don't shine, {aiming 5}{3 +1, target on knees, in pain, in melee} the target is hit {4 +1 orc}, he whimpers and curls into a ball, you take the opportunity to hit his head with the pommel of your blade {autohit}, {6+1 orc}, {human's roll to not have skull caved in(he gets opportunity because your not trying to kill him) 3} well you hit him hard enough to knock him unconscious, and probably cause him brain damage as well, he is however, not dead

Quote from: RNG
Stare at the commotion and yell "What in bloody blazez is going on here!?!"

Well, you were going to ask what was going o, however it is kind of obvious, there is an unconcious human on the ground {initiative 1} you cand bring yourself to do anything productive, so you sit on a chair and twiddle you'd thumbs}

Quote from: Paranatural
I decide to stop dicking around with the river, and instead go around to the back of the inn, to see what I can find.

{6} you decide that the river is no longer interesting, so you head behind the inn to see what you can find, you find a back door, and some trash, in you'r exhuberance, you decide to see if there is anything in the trash that is interesting {luck 3}, there is nothing, there is also a rusty knife you barely missed stabbing yourself on, when you sheepishly turn a way, you also find some stacked delivery boxes, you pry one open and find {loot 4} Some long life food (10 days traveling rations for omnivores), and a small (10 litres) metal tank of some sort of oil based fuel, you take that too its probably for the generator.

Quote from: kilakan
Retrieve my daggers, steal some beer off of one of the tables, and duck out of the inn.
I'm the kill, em when they don't see you, and or are incapacitated, not the head-on brawl type.

{4} you manage to retrieve the daggers, afterwards you head over to the counter to find a beer {3}, nope you cant find one, {4} you decide to head out of the inn, but the 3 strangers don't seem to mean you any harm, well maby the elf, but you decide to risk it, you think you may need friends in this place you found yourself in.

I hope i didn't cause too much brain damage, but given the other wounds, he may still die anyway.

Mutter "Damn, wasn't going to hit him THAT hard."Attempt to use body magic on the human to try and stop the bleeding as that is what would kill him. Be sure to bind his wrists together so that he doesn't try to kill anybody when, or IF he wakes. Although if he dies before we can stabilize him, don't bother with tying his wrists as it'll just look wierd otherwise.
