Does anyone know what values 0-5 compare to?  My guess was 0, 20,50 and 80 population are 0, 1, 2, and 3, but I'm not entirely sure.

the old init file said something to the extent of needing 100 dwarves to get the full extent of the game, maybe 100 is a value

probably.  Well I had 21 dwarves, and a siege triggered for level 1.  If we're going by "noble" levels, then the values are likely 0,20,50,80,100, and 140.

In 40d, the Orcs sieged immediately in the Orc mod, do you know what differences there are in the tags that could change this?

In the last version the population trigger numbers 0-5 corresponded to fortress population levels, (outpost, hamlet, and so on). So if that was the same then
0 = 1-19
1 = 20-49
2 = 50-79
3 = 80-109
4 = 110-139
5 = 140+

Don't know if it is the same in this version of not, but that would be my first guess.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
