Can we submit multiple solutions?

Solution 1
Flood room with water (pressure plates was only mentioned to be triggered by creatures)
Grab booze

Solution 2
Abandon
Come back as an adventurer (adventurers don't trigger traps by default)
Move booze from room into hallway
Reclaim
Grab booze

Solution 3
Outfit dwarf in full adamantine armor
Walk diagonally to avoid plates
Walk over weapon trap with minimal/no injuries
Grab booze

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.
Only in Dwarf Fortress...

This seems easy, despite the fact that I've never played DF before.

1. Get some decent metal, make good and oversized armor.
2. Also make axe. Just for being dwarfy.
3. Run in.
4. Our armor shall protect us against traps.
5. Dance.
6. Grab booze
7. Escape.
8. Skip the confusion smiley
9. GAINS.

Ideally - no. I have nothing against multiple solutions but it makes judging too complicated.

Solution 1
Barrels won't float in DF. Unless you can prove otherwise.

Solution 2
Abandon - you lost D:

Solution 3
Outfit dwarf in full adamantine armor - There is no adamantine.

Either way you missed on all 3.

Judging in 2 hours.

Mod to add dwarf flight, path thus:
(Use restricted trafic option to force path)
########
##+^+++#
##^~~~~#
##***^+#
**^^^*^D
##+~+^+#
##^~~~~#
##+^+++#
########

Use same path both ways.
Also, disable heat in the init options, and mode fire imps to drown and be otherwise harmless.

Reset the mods while both nobles are in there while you show them how you did it but are following behind them.

That breaks the init rule. You can only edit raws. I'll give you credit for noticing the imps tho.

Thats right baby. Two Fire Imps hidden in the lava. If you had no protection, the dwarf didn't survive the !!fun!!.

I guess its too late... But I would have said build a bridge on ends of lava closest to entrance, then on right next to cage traps. Then start smoothing the corner walls(So character actually stands in that spot), and imps will try to follow you, either hitting cage trap and/or weapon trap. Then walk straight to booze, grab it, and run out using your bridges, and while dragon is chasing you, hit door closer and quickly exit, shutting him in. All this assuming regular game physics  8)

And we need a new riddle. I'll post a new one tonight if Urist doesn't do it.

Gamemaster's Riddle
This is why you don't drink and dig! Wazzat? Yea I know it makes you all more productive! But not when you're completly smashed! The whole food stockpile is flooded! Flooded! Three years worth of harvest ruined! Not to mention our booze! Whazzat? They're probably a-ok under there? Yeah right! What? If you insist! Grab a team, and get it all back, then we'll talk.

The Food Storage been flooded out by accident. Its up to you to get it back.
Info
The Water Reservoir is fed by a freshwater lake.
The Stockpile door was forbbiden - for good reason.
You have massive quantities of stone and wood at your disposal, and every workshop freed for the task.
You have a team of 5 dwarves, each with a single profession.
The dining hall and farm are directly over the flooded stockpile.

Goals

*The Barrels must be saved, no dwarf must die during the operation.
*The fortress must not suffer further damage.
*Bonus Points if you manage to cut the flood and dry the stockpile.
*Sober dwarves don't gives you penalty for this one.
*Raw Editing: You cannot copy a raw editing thats been done before.

Get dwarves all by door. Open door. One frame later, mod dwarves to be aquatic. Dig a tunnel off the large chamber. Put in a door. Get all dwarves in it(with supplies for future steps). Start digging. As soon as the water level drops sufficiently, unmod the dwarves. Dig further. Dig down. Breach magma. Keep digging to make a large chamber. Build a hatch over it, and an airlock-entry control room. (sealed but accessable). Put dwarves by door. Mod dwarves aquatic again. Open door(but with the hatch closed, it just fills the new chamber). Dwarves retreat to airlock, and close external floodgate. Dwarves open internal floodgate. Unmod dwarves before they suffocate. Pull level releasing water into magma. Once it all has drained, dwarves return to surface and place a floodgate before lake, and add one before the new drain. Dwarves drink and feast until a noble arrives, at that point they put the noble in and then seal the control room.

Dig a very large area near the food stockpile. Dig a 9x9 stairway down to the megma sea. Remove the stairs at the top, place grates over hole. Drain lake into magma. Once room has emptied of water, feast!

Dig to magma. Using complex pump system, AND build a containment tower to carry magma. Pour magma into where the water is flowing in. the fortress. This will make an obsidean cap. Mod Dwarves with the AMPHIBIOUS, NO_EAT, and NO_DRINK tag. Wall off Dwarves to enter the water-filled portion. Enter booze stockpile after unforbidding the door. With (previously) aquired pick, enter giant water room. Construct a Seperate room, with entrance being a floodgate, and enough digged up to disperse water  (floodgate made beforehand, dumped in wall-offed section previously.). Dig said room to Magma used for magma attack on the entrance of the flood (With a channel to end it). Prepare a lever. Get dwarves out of drainage room. Block entrance from the flood to the booze. Pull lever built in booze stockpile. The water should drain. Open wall made to the (now-drained) water room. Water in booze rooms should now drain. Build a large monument to your success in the now-drained Water Room. Preferably a giant barrel symbol. After you are done with that, deconstruct walls to the booze stockpile, and mod-out the AMPHIBIOUS and NO_DRINK tag. Keep NO_EAT, so you don't have to waste crop on food.
