[Forum Game] Help the Dwarfs to the Booze Stockpile.

Rules (Updated 05/24/2010)
1) A riddle will be posted daily. Usually with a picture drawn in MSPaint to help visualize.
2) The dwarves must be able to drink the booze safely for the solution to be worthy.
3) You are given one day to come up with a solution. The Riddler is the judge. The best gets to make the new riddle. Then he'll be the judge for his own riddle.
4a) The Riddler set up the condition of the win - no trees, no picks, etc.
4b) You cannot brew or trade new booze. You must reach the stockpile.
5a) Your solution must obey the laws of Dwarf Fortress. Its only valid if you can do it in-game.
5b) Raws editing is allowed unless stated otherwise.. Hacking the game (Utilities like Dwarf Companion) is not.
5c) You cannot change init options. Weather, Temperatures, Caveins, and such are always on.
6) To keep it fair, keep modded stuff to a minimum in both riddles and solution.
7) The Riddler may repy to a solution to invalidate it. The most common cause is dwarven death.
8) There is no portals. Ever.

First Riddle
Setup: Your dwarves are seperated off the booze stockpile by a small river. There is a pack of carps in the water. You have access to wood, stone, picks, axes, food, cloth, etc. All workshops are available. The first layer is soil.

Conditions: At least one dwarf must survive.

Cut trees, use wood to build a bridge further down the river, away from the slaugherfish.

Use the wood to build a ballista, then put the ballista beside the river, pointing to a long channel that is connected to the river where the carp are, the channel also falls down some Z levels and drains elsewhere so water doesn't get to the ballista. Fire the ballista until all carp are dead. Build bridge, get booze, profit.

I'd suggest pumping the magma all the way up there and encasing the carp into obisidan, however I think the dwarves would die of thirst before.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Dig stairs down to below the river, but above the caverns. Dig along to cross the river from underneath. Dig stairs up to beside booze. Drink.

Dig down to one above HFS, then up to 1 below river with carp in it. wall off exit, set speed:1 in raws, and dig out both tiles. Let demons kill carp, build bridge, profit.

Train all the dwarves animal trappers. Make tons of aquariums. Catch all the carps. Make a solid gold bridge, and cross to the booze.

Amputee kills all carp with bear hands
Build bridge
Save some booze for heroic amputee and his bears

Station some dwarves in the river, evaporating it instantly

It's a hard riddle because they'd get sober before a solution using magma could occur.

Step 1: Build a tower three stories tall, close to the river. From it, build a pair of bridges extending over the river, each bridge coming out of one corner of the tower.

While this is being built, have one dwarf build a bowyer workshop, enough crossbows for each dwarf, and lots of wooden bolts.

Step 2: Station equal numbers of dwarves on each bridge, armed with crossbows. Let them kill the deathfish.

Step 3: Build a few pumps slightly upstream, but well within range of the crossbowdwarves.

Step 4: Pump the river dry.

Step 5: Build ramps on the riverbank. Wall that river off, then dig ramps up to the booze stockpile.

Step 6: Drink. Think about all the famine and drought that the dam will likely happen to the elves downstream. Laugh.

Step 1. Order Dwarves to jump into river, realizing that a Dwarf's need for booze far outweighs the need for limbs.

Step 2. Watch as Dwarves beat the carp into paste as they struggle to reach the booze.

Step 3. Watch as only the strongest, most determined dwarf reaches the precious booze as the other feed the carps. With the others down there is no need to share and thus the Dwarf has all the booze he will ever need.

Step 4. Know that Armok, the God of Blood has been pleased.

2.build crossbows and wood bolts for everyone.
3.mod carp to to homeotherm: 100000000000000025
4.wait a second for river to evaporate.
5.FIRE, but leave one alive.
7.dash across river before while the last carp flash steams the returning river.
8.have booze-fueled wood and elf chopping contest! (also, unmod carp.)

Build a small tower on the near shore, a drawbridge across, and a small tower back down on the far shore. Cheerfully drink the booze while shooting carp with crossbows from the bridge in drunken sport.
