Dividing will just make our health and hunger worse since they are both at half.

Maybe later we can evolve chloroplasts (or just steal them from plants)?

Well with 2, we divide by 2 meaning that each cell now has 1hp, now we healed 2pts in one turn, so by the end of next turn we will have 2 3hp cells...
