Iknow you plan for normal mapping but is it possible to use parallex mapping in your viewer as it looks to powerful if used.

Bumping to keep track of this dwarfsome project.

Is there any way we could have a very simple version without any real textures anytime soon?

So of all the things you can do in DF, it's the fractal artifacts that make you think dwarves are crazy.

Never mind the magma falls, the atom smashers, the cog-and-axle turing-complete computers, or the colonizing of Hell itself... all those are fine, but man, those recursive artifacts! Where do they get such ideas?

Hope you're still working on this project. The community needs a 3D visualizer, if only, so we can see the adamantine space elevator in all its 3 glorious dimensions.
Keep up the good work if you're still bashing away at it, if not, then get coding! :D

I'm almost over the worst bump of finalling at work, which will soon mean more free time for Obsidian and more updates. Just be patient - it has not been forgotten.

Just dropping in to wish you the best of luck Skeggox! We really need a full 3D visualizer, I've been missing them ever since 31. came out :)

Good luck, can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Cheers

178 polys? A bit too savy for modern hardware I think. I say you can use about 1 thousand for an anvil, we can degradate geometry to simpler datasets later on.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.
