Excellent, when I get time I may give it a go then. I don't have time to look at your work right now as I have to go to bed; work in the morning, But I'll have a look tomorrow.

Yeah, I tried learning to model with blender, it's insane. You'd have to be on acid to make a more obtuse UI

Also, this may sound stupid, but is it a prerequisite to be able to draw? I can't draw for shit, but I've always wanted to learn some modelling skills

It helps to be able to draw, escpecially during the prototype stage when you sketch out ideas and plan work. These can later be digitized an placed into the program as a reference.

I'd suggest learning how to draw as well, if you have the time.

Why is the cockpit of the TIE-IN on fire?

Fire?  There is some actual blinking red lights in there that is bouncing light around and focusing through the glass like a magnifier.  That's the kind of weird stuff that happens with light caustics+refraction.
As far as Blender2.5 and blenders workflow, it's much faster and well managed than many other programs because of the fact that you can set it up exactly how you want.  It has far more options than another other on the market.  Watch a half hours worth of Blender Basics tutorials and you'll be zipping around the interface no problem.
The nice thing about 2.5 is that you hit space and type the first letter of what you want to do and it will pop the option up in the selections.  Like say I want to lay down a "plane" I just hit space->add .. hit the letter "p" and "add plane" will be right there.
Blender will enable you to make any size view on any number of monitors that serve any function you want it to.  It should be real easy for you guys to figure out if you can figure out Dwarf Fortress  xD.

That's disgusting, and yes, someone should ditch the source.
Unless it's a scam, for some reason.
