Turn 9: Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...
Go down the middle path.
Followed by Omega, you make your way down the middle corridor. The building is eerily deserted, until you find some sort of storage hangar, filled with various styles of cargo. You navigate your way to the middle, when you are shocked to hear a voice ring out.
"Good of you to be on time. I hate waiting, you know."
An Autobot hops down from his hiding place in the ceiling, landing about 40 feet from you. He is black, with yellow trim, and as far as you can tell he is a rather bulky motorcycle. In robot form however, this becomes a very elegant form, about your size. A helmet of some sort is welded to his head, its visor obscuring his eyes from your view.
"My name is Prowl." He looks over at Omega. "And you are the one responsible for Jolt's death, if the reports are accurate. Optimus has sent me with a message: 'The Autobots are brothers. When you kill one of us you enact a blood feud that can only end in total annihilation.'" He then draws back into a combat stance, two swords falling out of his arms into his waiting hands. This could be problematic.
Yell over the comm lines "Kannon, get Blue Jay! I'm gonna try and heal Hacksaw!" Fire a few shots at Blue Jay to try and keep him down while I retreat a bit to where Hacksaw is and heal him.
You order Band Kannon to take out Blue Jay, but take a shot at him just to be sure. [6][1] Yet again, your shot completely fails to penetrate his armor. You then scramble over to Hacksaw, and begin repairs. [6] With some luck you manage to heal him to the best of your abilities, bringing him to full health. (+1 to repair, level gained)
Take careful aim and attempt to finish off Bluejay with my minigun.
Finding yourself at full strength you go back to your plan of killing Blue Jay. [6+1][6][5] You tear the rooftop to shreds, sending fragments of building materials in every direction. Many of these shots happen to hit the Autobot, ripping open his torso. He sees his pulsing spark, and finally expresses emotion--namely, fear. (+1 to Blaster Use)
Shoot Bluejay.
Make an inspiration witty pun.
[1] "You're grounded, little birdy!"
Meh.
[3+2[2] You fire a shot high into the air, but Blue Jay spots it coming and rolls away, doing a much better job than his now-beheaded comrade.
Ow. I'm pretty damn lucky. I could've taken some serious damage there, but I didn't.
"I wouldn't be here if I wasn't strong." I respond, making the Cybertronian equivalent of a smirk. "Now, let's see if you're so tough at a range."
I quickly transform back into my vehicle mode and take off, firing my grenade launchers at Bulkhead as I go. I will also try to reconfigure my bot mode. I want those dozer blades on my arms to use as gauntlets.
You transform and immediately backpedal, firing a salvo of grenades at Bulkhead. [2+2][6][1] As it happens, your shots completely fail to make a dent in him, and he continues his charge towards you.
[6] On a brighter note, you manage to reconfigure your transformation, giving your hands the dozer blades for extra power. (Level gain in Melee Weapons)
Attack Prowl
[4+1-2] Omega charges the Autobot, and swings with both of his blades. However, they are expertly parried by the more experienced foe, and a swift kick pushes his back next to Shadow.
Decepticon Actions:
Ratchet!
Meanwhile, while the rest of you are ignoring his orders, Barricade bravely enters the factory on his own, reaching yet another large room. You realize that these are commonplace in a facility where Autobots work. Barricade identifies it as the R&D lab, and begins to scour the computers for information. Unfortunately, he is cut off as a bright yellow Autobot enters the room. Very wide, yet short, and covered in all sorts of discolored patches and personal modifications. This is Ratchet.
"Well Ratchet," Barricade says. "I've been looking for you. You've got some pretty juicy secrets in this place."
"More than you realize." Ratchet responds in a jarringly ragged voice. "You've killed a lot of my soldiers today. I'll show you why that's a bad idea."
Before he can show him, Barricade fires off a shot from his blaster. [4+3][6][6] The shot hits Ratchet in the abdomen, sending fragments and fire in every direction. He falls to his knee, and begins to cough wretchedly.
Autobot Actions:
Escape
Blue Jay realizes that he is beaten, and attempts to make quick repairs on himself [5] He shows a talent for this, as he brings himself back from the brink of death in a few short moments. He then sees that Hacksaw is back in action, and makes a run for it after a single shot. [6+1][4][6] As it happens, the shot is very lucky, and hits Codespark in his back as he finishes repairs on his ally. The blast tears away several layers of what can be assumed to be vital machinery.
[1] As he attempts to flee, however, Hacksaw fires a shot at his ankle, stunning and tripping the Autobot. Those present begin to see similarities with Jolt's demise.
Neutralize Thundercrash
[4+3][1] Bulkhead continues to charge after Thundercrash and gets within swinging distance, but evasive maneuvers cause him to miss and fall flat on his face.
Omega
From his advantageous position, Prowl charges Alexander Omega. [2+3][3] The blades come extremely close to his face, and only a miraculous dodge saves him from a swift end.
Repair and return fire
[6+4][6] Ratchet quickly pulls some machinery from nearby machines and gets to work on his injury. Barricade can only watch as he fixes up the patch as if it were nothing. He then goes on to give an extreme upgrade to his machine gun, causing it to spew torrents of AP-rounds. [2+4][5][6] He tests out this new gun on Barricade, who attempts to shield himself with his arm, only to watch as it is rapidly eaten away by the endless hail of bullets. What you just witnessed with Ratchet's attempts at repairs was a Critical Success Roll. On a combined roll of 9 or higher when using a skill, a Transformer must make an extra roll to prevent a catastrophic failure. On a 3 or less, there tends to be very negative side effects. On a 4 or higher, there is a positive outcome, such as upgrading of weapons or armor. Note that if the roll that triggered all this is an 11 or higher, a roll of 4 or higher only has a neutral outcome. You accomplish what you intended, nothing more.
