Just finished the Demonic GCS. I'm still partial to the given name.
This Megabeast has its chitin modded to hard as steel, poisonous bite, dragon firebreath and of course GCS-Web Breath. This combination makes it really, really deadly. You can't block when you're webbed, and then you melt. Plus it creates a smokescreen with that combo.

Of course there's still balance issues. But I should have them fixed shortly.

Cave Turtoise, Ghouls, Gelatinous Cubes, Umber Hulks and Ratmens makes the cut.
Dark Elves, Dark Dwarves, and Goblins will have to duke it out in arena.  :D

Beholders will have be voted on. The Population and Cluster Number is WAY too high (100-200 a year... yikes) for what should be a rare beast, with power to match a small megabeast. Also you should consider giving it immunity to its own poison gas.
And I'm not sure the Illithid would fit - there's no magical or psionic powers in DF.

Edit: I love the ideas of lost adventurers. I bet we could set their mood to miserable, and have them trantrum when we meet them. (But can we remove that syndrome? Madness isn't infectious D:)

Well, they are possessed by demons. It's not an adventurer anymore if you read the description. But you can do whatever you please :P

Eh?
Code: [Select]
[SYN_IMMUNE_CREATURE:BEHOLDER:ALL]What do you mean?

And cluster numbers is low. Do you mean population number? It will just allow them to appear more, there're still LOTS of other guys so they appear quite rare.

Well I'll test it then. And modify as needed. I missed the immune tag - sorry! :v

I thought Lost Adventurers were just driven mad by wandering the underworld for so long. Psychotic adventurers. In the Underworld. Lets give it an entity file so it can use weapons.

Isn't Population the min/max per year and cluster how many will spawn at once?

New creature: Tentacle Beast. Basically a slow-moving mass of tentacles. Each tentacle... has a maw. And one central eye. It'll be awesome. Tired now, going to sleep. Will test mods tonight.

The minimum population would work only if there were no other critters. It means that there can be none at all if there's another group on the map. The maximum works as it is. So it's ok.

I'll need the b_detail_plans for the beholder - its missing its thickness.
I'll probably make it a semi-megabeast. It deserves no less.

It's really weak. Unless you make it size 2000000. I mean it's flesh and it's flying. Easy to kill :P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You will probably need templates for mummy as well. Just use cloth for wrapping.

What background would you give mummies to the underdark? They seem more like a ruins-type monster to me. Maybe for the demonic fortresses.

And Deon: If its 'really easy to kill' we should make it harder to kill :)
A very hard hide works wonder for it.

Any living creature is easy to kill in df :P. There's a high chance of vital organs to be pierced.

Hard hide would work but not too good, random criticals are always awesome.

Mummies could be buried long time ago, and their temple sunk in the ground. It happens IRL too. And mummies do not fit ruins at all. They fit tombs and burial grounds, and you must know that there're underground temples in DF, so they fit perfectly.

Thinking of making an armour man. It will essentialy be a walking suit of armour with a weapon and shield. Butching it should yield its componenets, when looking at the BUTCHER_SPECIAL tag that seems feasable. It might mess up the armour sizes but the weapons and shields should work fine.

I could give it some seperate castes, one for each weapon type. Ranged weapons wont work but thats ok.

Havnt done much creature modding so far though. It might take me a while.

Edit: Hm, composing it entirly of df armour might make the creature a bit weird. Especialy with the way greaves are right now. It would also have gauntlets floating midair, somehow connected to the breastplate.
I might add in some other bodyparts that dont yield an actual armour piece.

Here is my basic Deep Gnome and a pickhammer. I am still working on it a bit, his right arm looks a bit to big I think.

Oh, also the gray thing in the middle of the pickhammer is a hand, I forgot to change it when I change the skin colour from grey to brown.

Oh god Raydrics! Run for your lives!

Rather than make it butcherable, have it drop the armor on death. Kinda like the bronze collossus drops a bronze statue.

Allright I'll test and add it then. Should make them slow since they're not exactly Undead. I'll also check if there's not a Ruins Biome, they could appear on the overworld too.

I just tested the beholder against two deep gnomes swordmans - it lasted a while, dodging and throwing fireballs - until it got exhausted and dropped on the ground. Then he died. The balance seems right for one - testing with more.

Still need the Tissue Template for Beholders and Mummies.
I'll add that rule to first post, actually.

Edit: actually the game made the beholder of air. So any attack would just pass through. Will have to retest once Deon post the tissues.

I noticed on the 1st post you were considering making dark elves. I know that Rhenaya has made a pretty good mod that allows you to play as the Drow from Fearun, complete with driders and a few pack animals.

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=54695.0

This might be useful since Drow are essentially the BBEG when it comes to most campaigns in the Underdark, not including Illithids and Beholders.

Well you need slimes, molds and fungus.

Possibly fungus people could give off spore clouds which cause breathing problems making them very dangerous in melee.
