I have to rant about something completely (I think) unrelated to the topic, sorry.. but it just reminded me of it. You know what I absolutely hate? I HATE when people expect you to upgrade your damned OS for any reason at all. Work related programs, video games, new functionalities, WHY? No, fuck you, I refuse. And don't tell me to "Get with the times", or "Stop using old crappy operating systems", or "There's a time to move on and you've clearly passed that time".. Windows XP works
PERFECTLY WELL for absolutely
everything that I can possibly imagine needing/wanting to do. Why the hell would I spend $400.00 on a new OS that was merely shoved out into the public to make more cash? I repeat, why? Every single person that I've asked this to face-to-face can only reply with "You need to get with the times, XP is outdated".
WINDOWS XP DOES EVERYTHING I NEED IT TO DO SO IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT OUTDATED, FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSorry I know I need to calm down but this really pisses me off. And I know that sooner or later I WILL need to upgrade, but now is definitely not the time. And you are probably thinking "Uhh.. then don't upgrade? What's the problem here?" Good point. I'm sort of just making a mountain out of a mole hill. But with all of the bullshit people are spewing onto my face about getting with the times, and with the recent release of Just Cause 2 only working on systems that supported DirX10/11 (in other words, it does not run on XP), I'm just getting a little irritated.
There is a time for technological advancement and a time to stay right the hell where we are until we actually have something to advance on, instead of releasing
shitty "upgrades" so that our corporate wallets can swell a bit more. I'm just sick of it. Again, sorry. But not really. Can anybody share some insight?
