Came back this morning to find that my hero had died at the hands of an Adamantine Golem, and that he'd downgraded all his equipment.

The diary posts between his death and my logging in again consisted mainly of him whining about me.  The idiot spends all his money on getting worse equipment and then stays to fight when his health is stupidly low, and he has the nerve to insult ME when he finally kicks the bucket out of sheer stupidity?

Y'know what?  Sod it.  I've gotten to level 12, I've started my own guild, and all other potential milestones are utterly unattainable unless I play this thing for five years straight.  This program has run its course.  I'm gonna pull a Necoho on this git and disbelieve in myself.
