As to that I don't know, all effect I've really noticed is that it heals him sometimes and punish hurts him sometimes, and I got a golden brick, awesome!

Answer to "can heroes meet":

Entered a bamboo grove to get some rest, but met Lore Wargrinder there. Drank a mug for lucky meeting, smoked a peace-pipe. Time passed unwittingly.

Lore Wargrinder is Apple Master's character. Not sure about forming parties though. Maybe sometime later in development?

As for monsters, there were a few. Most notable so far was the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

While Fat Epic Beard Man was busy engraving an epitaph on the gravestone for me, I took my chances and fled into the forest.

Likely from killing some monster. I got a trophy generator of some kind, but Optimus Pansy gave it to the first tramp he saw.

My hero then promptly sold it and palmed off a fake gold coin on the shopkeeper.
