It's alright to have weak or very narrow roles. They're like townies but better. They at least give the player the illusion of doing something useful. Also, feel free to allow Templars even if there's no cult or Knights if the only enemy is Vampires.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Definitely planning on allowing Knights and all types of hunters regardless of the scum set-up.

I do want the Hunter types to be generally equal, except for the basic Monster Hunter, at least.

Some more narrow roles might be nice, though. Anyone got any more role types they'd like to see? Either ability-wise or flavor-wise?

Eh... I was still thinking that, if you're planning on putting in narrow roles and  different kinds of scumgroups, a closed setup would make more sense...

Maybe, although closing the set-up at this point might be a bit odd. And I'm not that fond of closed set-ups, personally. Although I guess it might make more sense with this particular flavor.

Perhaps all the town roles be closed but the scum roles be open. After all, it's a town. Everybody knows everybody. Everybody knows what kind of people live in the town. But how would random people know what kind of scum are trying to kill them?

I think you have your terminology reversed, there.

But, yeah, that's an option.

I picked closed scum.

If it doesn't work out it can be changed.

Yeah... fuck... flip 'em, whatever.

It's all so confusing what with TWO whole options. From now on I'm going with "revealed" and "hidden".

Honestly, I'd rather see a general idea of scum, just no specifics. Ex: We Know there could be a Vampire of some sort, we just don't know how it works.

That's reasonable, opening flavor can give some general information away.

That's what the Sage is for. Although it looks like he's missing from my list of roles at the moment. Hmm.

But, yeah, the Sage role would give people an idea of what they're up against, rather than having no idea.

I dunno... I kinda like the idea of a sortof mystery about the scum being unfolded as they are lynched :P.

I suppose it could be general. For instance, killing scum would kill someone important, prompting the lynchings. Nonkilling scum (cult, vampire) would just make a bunch of people disappear, prompting the lynchings.
