Out-of-Combat Rules

Note that while not in combat, your actions go in the order in which they are posted. Specifying that you follow someone will cause your movement to happen at the same time as theirs (if not interrupted by someone else), so following the first person to post is a good way to keep close. Also note that you can perform actions during a movement, take advantage of that fact.

Movement is unrestricted (although you may not walk into an area you don’t know about yet you may “follow a wall” a certain distance into the unknown), but if combat is initiated in your turn during a long move, you might find yourself entirely out of reach of your friends. This is a very bad situation to be in, as most enemies will be at least as strong as you are at the start of the game, and you may be caught by surprise (getting no action for the first round of combat). Simple actions, such as giving an item to someone, talking, opening an unlocked container or door, changing what you have equipped, and so on will always succeed. Anything that requires a specific skill or attribute will take a roll, as will searching the area (limited to a single grid square at a time).

You can take up to five non-roll actions (including movement) and two rolled ones. If any action fails for some reason, your other actions will not be interrupted if possible. So if you make an action that you don’t want to do if a previous one fails, make sure to mention it. Alternative actions count toward the per-turn limits.

yes, but we don't really know much about our surroundings, we don't get much to react to. what can i do, for example? besides exploring the cave and investigating the corpse(and that's what i'm doing)

Loot, follow someone, watch for stuff along the way.

That's three times the amount of actions you're doing right now. The reason there isn't much to do is, well, because it just hasn't been uncovered yet... stuff isn't hard to find (edit: At least, it really shouldn't be...).

still, i'm not looting a corpse, im with amnesia and woke up on a random beach with a random bunch of other amnesiacs, i care little for loot, i want answers! i'm investigating a corpse, i wont do another action until i know everything there is to know about that damn rotting corpse.

Fine, fine, sorry for getting irritable, I just expected more to have happened by now.


Askot: You search the Fresh Corpse, but find nothing of value besides a rusty key laying beneath it... The corpse is of a male Nord. It would appear he had been robbed and killed just moments before you arrived, thus the lack of clothing (*hands around the eye-bleach*) or other possessions on the body. There is little else you can ascertain, aside from the existence of bandits nearby.

Pillow: You head to the cave entrance to the west, stepping in and peering into the dark.


Maxicaxi: You go to the Mudcrab Corpse and cut out the meat. Unfortunately, there's nothing to cook with. Good thing Crab Meat doesn't need to be cooked.

Spartan: You search around yourself, but there's nothing to be found on the rough stone floor.


General: You all hear a heavy door closing, footsteps and whispers somewhere within the cave. It's impossible to tell neither from where the noises are coming from or how many people there are thanks to all the echoes.
