Just alter the Embark Points in the World Gen Parameters to 10000. So long as your home civ has access to it, you could start with 3000 pitchblende and make an entire city out of purple stone.

You could always alter its raw entry as well; add veins and large clusters as well as adding it to more types of rock layers.

I would have voted for Dolomite. My entire fortress and every single article is currently Dolomite, and it has a nice color IRL. You get entire layers of it in .04 beneath some deserts, and it's rotten with iron ore and gems. The one downside is it's plagued with worthless large cluster deposits of Talc. :(

I voted for Calcite though because it's the cr閙e of the flux stones, found as a crystal, often with notable optical properties, other times with lovely coloration. It can be dipped in acid  to create a smooth, lustrous stone for decorative purposes. To use it to create pig iron or steel would be sorrowful. From Wikipeida: "The largest documented single crystals of calcite originated from Iceland, measured 7󬱚 m and 6󬝯 m and weighed about 250 tons". I would want to hollow the mountain out around the crystals and display them in their natural alignment rather than remove them. :>

Dolomite and marble for me. Both flux, marble is awesome, and plenty of ore, gems, etc. Win.

I do hope you understand that when I mention that I simply removed the [REACTION_CLASS:FLUX] and alter the metal raw to make flux useless.

Microline is for the winter structure, tradition doesn't equate to favorite.
