A has ruins of some sort. And it's like dune: Giant sand worms?!
B's lifeforms would allow us to wage an invisible war, using highly resilient microbes.
C has... fish?

I vote A.

The RUINS of a steam locomotive.

And its a desert.

At least on C we'll have a world presumably teeming with life to twist and mutate and consume.

I am thinking Warcraft style naga twisted to our imagination. We shall raise them to a level 0 civ under our control and call in a space faring civ to get our first ship. Or we can make a horrifying flesh space whale.

Giant sand worms don't help us.

They would be necessarily sparse, because each one would eat a huge amount of food and food is scarce in the desert. They aren't intelligent generally, nor have much capacity for intellect.

The brain will be the most important part of our evolution. C has the best intelligent species for us to exploit their brains and better brains will allow us to control more minions, evolve more creatively and get to space traveling a lot faster.

Planet C... It's orbit is far away from the star and few civilizations could asume that it has organic life. But under kilometers of ice there are warm water... After warm water there are layer of very hot but neverboiling water... After that there are solid core and in the end hot liquid core

Water at bottom is like this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercritical_fluid

When you find life you tried to infect a lot of organisms, but most of them have some kind of energical barrier that prevents you from infecting it... Only few of them can be infected

Unknown creature 1

Body: Fishlike. 10 cm long
Reproduction: 50-100 eggs once per 3 months. 2 Genders
Food source : Carnivorious. Hunts either solitary for smaller pray or in packs for bigger
Brain level 3
Special: Natural sonar

Unknown creature 2
Body: wormlike 3cm long
Reproduction : 1 egg daily. 1 Gender
Food source: Parasiting in a digestive systems of bigger creatures
Brain level 1

And choice 3
Spend some time and look for another suitable lifeforms.

Number 2 seems good, we can get a lot of easy DNA that way and infect the host when we want to. But more variety is always good.
