man i can't wait to find out how dis game works

Simple. If you are town aligned, you have to try to figure out who the scum are, and get them lynched. Whoever has the most votes at the end of the day. If you are the cop, you can investigate someone at night and see if they are mafia or town. You get a town result from the mafia godfather though. If you are the doctor, you can protect someone at night, and if they are targeted to be killed, they will live.

If you are mafia aligned, you have to try to look like someone town aligned, and try to get a townie in the noose, and you and your scum pal get to kill someone at night. And if you have a roleblocker, he can target someone at night and block any actions that they have if they are cop or doctor.

Lonewolf I which alignment is your favorite, town or scum?

2.
the rabble, the lower classes; the common people: The nobility held the rabble in complete contempt.
–verb (used with object)

I'm digging the action, guys, but my advice as the Town IC is to start asking questions relevant to the game (ie, Who would you rather play as scum with? Who would you target if you were scum? Etc.)

While RVS is pointless and (generally) fun, try to start bringing it into the game when you can.

Everyone should say what role they have, then we can easily start to find who's lying through little tests such as "who did you block last night" or "why are there two police claims?"

What the...?

Unvote. I'd rather let Lonewolf I answer my question first, but this is just...

So, Bandages, you basically want to reveal who the cop and doctor are. One of the crucial things the scum do not know. If we let this happen, they will be killed and blocked during the night. Doing this will render them useless! You will be giving the town's most important weapon to the scum! So, trying to make things easier for you and your scum pal?

I meant after the first night = 3=

Because then the policeman can say who they tracked, and if there's only one policeman claim, we know it's 100% true. If there are two, then we know one of them is scum. Doctor should probably not reveal, though.

Diablous - I can't rightly say, as I've only ever been town.  I think scum would be more fun, as constructing and maintaining plausible lies and picking apart holes in truth seems a whole lot more interesting than straight scumhunting.

Also, Bandages: Rolefishing day one is a serious offense in a vanilla (or near vanilla) mafia game.  Even if it's an innocent newbslip, made out of simple curiosity, the townies are forced to assume that you're mafia, or worse, mafia roleblocker looking for targets.

Criptfeind - Do you think Ottofar's being out of town during RVS will hurt the game?  Or will it help to have some fresh perspective in case something like Bandage's slip sends us off on a newbhunt, rather than a scumhuntz?

FAKEEDIT:  My God, Bandages.  Your just digging yourself deeper.  For one thing, even if only one cop claims, it could still be fake.  'Probably not' nothing.  Doctor should almost never reveal until the endgame, if even then.

Why would the real cop not claim after night 1? Claiming makes it easy to know who's lying or not.

He could have got an innocent result, and if he claims then, he could be effectively neutralized for the rest of the game. Or killed. The cop should stay in hiding until he strikes scum, in my opinion.
