Universal liquid flow.
« on: May 17, 2010, 06:44:31 pm »

It's likely still a ways off, but when liquids are all given properties of flow(a la water and magma), what sort of Fun would you organize?

I can envision a lovely magma-heated molten gold fountain doubling as both a foyer spectacle and security system. Perhaps I could eventually replace the water in my trade depot de-elfing system with pure elf blood. (This would, of course, require a sort of corpse grinding mechanism one floor below, further re-affirming my claim that DF is designed on some level to be a psychopath simulator.)

What about y'all? Booze moats, blood fountains? What creative uses could you imagine for universal fluid properties?

Yeah... I can't beat the milk cannon. I can think of syrup bombing or oil carpeting, for the purpose of igniting the liquid afterwards, but it's just not milk cannon levels... Neither is a venom bath and fantasy acid is way off too.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

Venom "water" features.  I wonder how long a gobbo or elf (or dwarf for that matter) survives if he's dumped in a pool of venom.  Or what happens when all my traders have to wade through a 3/7 pool of venom when making a delivery.  Even better if you can mix this with the "Spontaneous Dwarven Liposuction" (wet fat melting bug) so you get a bunch of elves coated up to their waists in a poison, and hemorrhaging blood everywhere because their fat has melted out of all of their pores.

Beer volcano.

Still not sure how to do the stripper factory, though.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Easy, don't bother to make any clothes.  Nudist Dwarf Colony, with a communal beer shower in the mead hall.

Make sure to include a number of weaksauce slashing weapons, to ensure the venom's entry into the bloodstream. Make sure these weaksauce slashing weapons are not sufficient to cause death under normal circumstances.

Also, molten pitchblende generators. The closest DF will ever get to a nuclear reactor.

Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.
