A .png can only have one layer.

If you already have a .png file with transparency, you don't need to change anything.

So... I didn't read past posts...

but is it cool if I just copy and paste 34.08 over 34.09?

It seems to be working okay.

and even if it's not... can't I just repaste with the correct phoebo 34.09?

This was mostly a bugfix release, so there shouldn't be much to change, and it should be pretty much OK to just copy your raws and art folder over.

That said, never just go copying the WHOLE DF folder over.  That causes problems.

There is the raw change for coke, though:

@NW_Kohaku: I did merge your tiles for the tracks into my custom tileset. Just a question remains, do you change any tile numbers in the raws ? Because the X-track that goes in all directions does use the former upside-down questionmark.

I'm almost certain those upside down question marks are what Phoebus uses to designate tiles that aren't already in use - there are three in the standard Phoebus tileset, after all.

Yeah, but how does the game knows that it should use this tile for the track-crossroads then ?

EDIT: damn, I feel like a complete noob. Raws are more my thing ;)

I bet :P

I made a white-transparent, a grey-transparent and a black-transparent version, and the black transparent one looks best ingame, but floor tiles and rubble now look white. -.- Horrible. I think I will postpone this project.

I'll be fixing the corners for sure.

Correct.
I've just reclaimed two of those for the track 'crossroad' and the 'line stop'.

In that case, please, enterntain me and explain how DF knows where to use these tiles. I can get behind the idea that I open the tool.txt raws and manually input a tile number, but what about the tracks ? How does DF know which tilenumber to take for the crossroads and the line stop ? Or are these hardcoded, and the specific tile HAS to be the one that fits as a crossroads/line stop ?

d_init.txt

About halfway down the file, notice the giant list of new custom-definable tiles for tracks.

Tracks are looking good.  Can't wait until I have some in game to see.

BTW, wurli, while I know how to do the upgrade, thank you for being quick on updating the "official" linux version of the Phoebus set. :D  Its been busy lately, and this really helps me out.

These new tracks are a work in progress. (I'm following NW_Kohaku's design.)

Just in case you were wondering, the railroad ties I did were pretty simple 25% erasers for two pixels each, with the rails being 100% erasers.  For the curved tracks, I used 15% erasers for the ties, and double-tapped the eraser on the central parts of the tie.  The river parts are 4 pixels wide.  They're pretty simple rectangle fills, except for where I was trying to make the railroad tie "shadows" on the rivers less apparent by making the river more grainy, so except for those darn curvy pieces, yeah, these are pretty simple to draw.

Also, for the "+" piece and the "T" pieces, I didn't use the two-pixel wide "tie", I made it look more like the rails themselves.  I only used 60% eraser (so that it doesn't show up too much on the river) and only for one pixel.  I erased the pixel right at the corner, as well.  (For the "T" pieces, I also obviously made that turning rail bit, as well, which was a 30% eraser with double-taps on the tiles that were meant to look more solid.) It makes the rails look better than to have the rails apparently run along the railroad tie.

Looking at it now, I think the outer ties of my curves could probably use an angle closer to being straight, since looking at where the two curve pieces meet in mine looks pretty jarring.

Anyway, your rail pieces look, I'm not sure if it's the right word, but cleaner than mine, so I look forward to how they turn out.
