Phoebus, is there any plans to redo the current bar sprites? The wood currently looks like bars and the bars look very low quality compared to the rest of the sprites.
I've made some improvements to the bamboo tile, here's two versions:

What do you think about these new versions of the bamboo tile?
the right one looks fantastic.

The right looks better than the left, since it's unique.

Is there no way to view the different font options in the v23 tileset assembler? I mean, you can *select* different options, but there's no text with which to preview which option does what.

I've made some changes to the tileset assembler to display more elements on the preview.
The preview/tileset window now has a tooltip indicating the ability to change the display with left & right clicks.

The updated Tileset Assembler executable is available as a separate download until the next graphic set update:
DwarfFortessConfig.exe @ MediaFire

By the way - I discovered in my download of v23 that the version file in the RAW folder says v20.

Minor issue, but I thought you're appreciate the reporting all the same.

The raws were not updated since v20.
Now that the graphic pack is split in different parts (units, raws & tileset), I'm only upping the version of a part when it's seeing an update.

Hey Phoebus,

What would need to be adjusted to use phoebus for tomitapio's version of genesis? I mean, I couldn't install it like normal I assume.

For now I just used ascii and copied over tomi's init changes, replacing ironhand with phoebus. But I'd like to make sure everything shows right and is updated (for instance w/ the bamboo!).

Quite a lot.
Every creature, plant & mineral needs to have their tile changed, and a few other miscellaneous objects too.

I did minerals a few days ago... and it took me 1.5 hours. :/ I'm not too eager to do the rest.

The last version of Phoebus' Steel Mod seems to be 0.31.25v13 (April 20, 2011). And it warns in bright red letters:
Quote
This mod should only be used with Phoebus' Graphic Set of the same version.

So... is it about time to update your Steel Mod? Or is there a way for us to manually update it to work with 0.31.25v23 ?

I'm guessing that the only problem with not using Phoebus' graphics with this is that this mod adds Anthracite coal as a mineral and tells the game to look for the tile for Anthracite (which is missing in other graphics sets).

The Steel Mod only changes one core file: "entity_default.txt", which is untouched by the graphic pack.
So you can use the mod with any mod/pack that doesn't change "entity_default.txt", including vanilla Df and the latest Phoebus.

I can't say as much about the cooking mod.

Added 3 options 'Text Clear Space', 'Text Space Bright Natural' and 'Text Space Bright Smooth'.

Excuse me, to which configuration file shall I put this, and what is the exact syntax? I want my Clear Space back...

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.
