Not seeing enough of a difference between Left/Center to care about. I do NOT like Right. (PS: 0.31.25 is out, Phoebus, you're never going to get that sleep. ;))

I think I would choose left, it blends better with the grass tiles.

I don't know how modders keep up with the fast bugfixes that Toady seems to be doing, I just wouldn't have the time.

If there is any chance to get a fort running before the next release is out :sigh:

'bout the Bamboo... still wondering why toady is considering it grass and not tree (even if belongs to the order of Poales, alone that according to wikipedia there is a discussion in india whether it is a "tree" or a "grass" - even if that discussion is only about rights/department consideration... damned, i want my bamboo bed now, pure as that ;P) ... if it is tile 240, I step back from right tile to either center or left too - makes just more sense with the rest of items that tile is used for.

The right style uses the vertical river/road tile. But that's beyond the point, almost everyone detests it anyway.

Diagonal walls? Yay! I know quite a bit about that.
The first work I've done on DF tilesets was to improve someone else's tile that had diagonal walls with diagonal thickness problems.

You've drawn your diagonal walls using the red techique, you should use the green techique instead to gain 2 easy pixels of thickness:


Now, on a wide wall that won't be enough, so I've been thinking for while about using crenelation to thicken diagonal walls, the side benefit is that crenelated wall represent better the true nature of DF's walls: things can't move in that empty diagonal corner even if it looks empty.
So I've drawn mockups of various possible designs.
The first line has no core, the second line has a core that follows the external lines, the bottom line has a core that is straight.
White = Wall, Black = Floor, all of the sections are 5x5, you can outline the empty floor tiles from their black corners in the crenelated walls.

So, I'm looking on everyone's opinion on which wall design they prefer, and why?

Did you have plans to implement this into your own tileset? PS: I like the 2nd column the best.

Yes I do, but I'm waiting before I have decent engraving for the walls before I used them.
Hopefully Ironhand will make some great engravings for the walls.

Rabbits and all other critters are already in genesis 3.19a4 if you don't have them (I thought you do).

The penguin man is kinda useless due to the fact that penguins ARE in fact almost 'men'! ( Well, lets say they act like it. )
