Wow... toady seem to be hunting bugs now like a ... oops we have spring time and the ampibians are realy croaking outside and .... xxx .... well spring mood. Damned, I never trusted the savegame updater and always started the fortress anew - ARGH, wtf. have I spend 12 hours yesterday to get my embark side (worldgen hadn't changed the side itself in regards to stone, etc. - but history and creatures made my once beautiful embark (.20) into a sinister haunted bad side... sigh... and then finding new seeds, and a good embark party (mayor that can't wish for impossible mandates) took me through that time)... Grmpf.... but thanks again for the GFX Set!
P.S.: I don't mind the stone changes... though I always appreciated Fe and Coal tiles to be recognizable on 1st sight.... and military and other ore seem to be good enough a divider at first thought (but I see that was just a thought) - but besides that iron is the one and only ore essential for steel, and if there may be a tile available I really would wish... yeah... but maybe one day we get rid of this 256 tiles limited set... (or just the hardcoded references).... grumbly, rumbly, rant.... Thanks! (Edit: Sorry, no sarcasm: I am really thankful for the fast update and about most of the changes, and with the rest thats just the usual "german angst" about changes
)
P.P.S.:
Ockad: Maybe none of us know DF Dwarves.... but from all basic Fantasy (Since late '70 times) RPGs I would support that later argument that our average dorf could smell "gold, gold, gold,..." in total darkness and with layers blocking all scientific means of "recognizable" :p in fact besides seeing just the next non-mined stone, there should be vectors that point to all ores, stones and dry/watery and such (with increasing precision how deeper we are from the surface and how closer we get to the source).... so much vectors that none of us human users could cope with :insane:
