I am using a modified version of Phoebus graphics and have a problem with the new version (31.04) of Dwarf Fortress.

Please look:

The colors in .ini and graphic file in both version are the same. Why the two differences? - Why (1, 2) did I loose the sharpness and the tiles are ugly blurry? And why (2, 3) the colors are different (if they are the same in option files)?

I am running DF in fullscreen 1280x1024, the same blurry tiles are in default size window.

I've updated it, just thought he might want to know the other link isn't working :)

The problems with the MediaFire file host have forced me to upload on DFFD early ( how horrible :P .)
Sorry for all of the download problems.

Just FYI Phoebus, but there is a patched version of DF 0.31.04 on DFFD that bypasses the GPU check on windows and thus allows you to run with [GRAPHICS:YES]

Does it work?

Also, any plans on making it runnable on 2D? I can't run Standard on my computer.

Also bear in mind that dwarves have their heads at a perfect height for a good face-kicking.
That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.

Well its a moot point now, as 0.31.05 is just round the corner, but yes it does. Also you must run the patched version in 2D as STANDARD has a codepage bug.

The only thing I don't like about this graphic set is the "+".  Smooth floor tiles are my favorite things to be well drawn, since it's what I spend most of my time staring at.  I'm pretty obsessed with the landscape looking good.  Love the rest of it.  (The dwarf professions can get a bit confusing, though.)

What's your replacement suggestion for the '+' tile?

About the dwarf professions, in DF v0.31.04 unit graphics were disabled so all dwarf profession were using a colored generic dwarf symbol. Graphic mode is working again in DF v0.31.05; distinct unit/profession graphics are working again.

Several letters and numbers are not displaying properly, and are either entirely or mostly black. I used to the pre-installed package and genned a brand new world, but even restarting didn't fix it.

EDIT: Using the old .bmp version of the tileset from the previous thread "fixed" the problem, but I'd love to know how to make it work with the new version.

EDIT2: Alright, found the problem. Turns out setting PRINT_MODE to 2D instead of STANDARD was the culprit.

I uh... don't have one.  I suppose I just think it could use more detail.  I've actually grown more accustomed to it since I posted that.

I just tried this graphic set... it's beautiful. The best I've ever seen. Looks very 'serious' ans sinister, which is MUCH better than mayday's colorful set. Continue your awesome work! I'm gonna use it from now on.

PS. Just a question out of curiosity - does it work on all OS or just Windows?

Thanks for praise.

I've never tested the set outside of Windows, or got any feedback on successful install under Linux or Mac.
Obviously the pre-installed package only works on Windows, but I expect the patch package to work when used on the linux & mac versions of DF.

I was going to comment about config setting just before you found the fix.
I had a very similar problem when playing around in the various v0.31.04 builds, just ended up giving up and waiting for v0.31.05.
