It's pretty incredible to see how far this tileset has come.

What program do you use, Phoebus? Photoshop?

Not sure about Phoebus, but I'm using GIMP 2.6 and a Wacom Intuos 4 (small) pen tablet. :D

quick question: what button does the stockpile grid icon represent? (default set)
Tiles.

Thanks.
I do use GIMP. It's interface is really hard to get used to, but it's not as bad as it once was.

Tiles?

I meant what keyboard button do I press:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Or am I just not understanding that screen? I was trying to toggle the "Uniformed" option to see what it does. I'm not familiar with it...

Stockpiles use the "=" tile.

Ooh, interesting.

GIMP isn't hard to use one you get used to just right clicking to bring up the menus.  Then it gets really easy. ;)

In the next version I'm changing all the cluster/vein non-economic stone so they use the layer stone tiles.

I'm also considering using the meld, or an embossed version of meld, as the default for all alternate tilesets.
The actual default tileset would still use the symbol heavy style.

Basalt (Layer) with Alunite (previously vein, now sedimentary).
Meld vs Embossed Meld:

Personally, I think that the non-embossed is nicer for the tiles without icons.  It kind of works better that way.

I have to agree. The new embossed look is kind of... dazzling. I think if I saw a bunch of tiles like that it would be more than a little distracting. I like the look, but it would need to be in small doses. Which as I understand wouldn't be possible. That said it's an alternate so I say go for it if people like it.

Fake Edit: Have you started to worry about the number of "alternates" you're keeping? I love the choices, but keeping up so many different versions has to be taxing...

I bet he has one Gimp XCF file with a bunch of layers he can just switch on and off.  He might even have a batch export script to do it automatically.

I wish I had a script, but I don't. I just toggle layers and save, and yes, I do dread the moment I have to create those 18 (wtf?) tilesets.

I probably should create a GUI to generate tilesets based on a combination of parts, but I'm way too rusty with GUIs.
