It was at this point that I realised that dwarves are actually the essence of chaos. What else can make perpetual motion machines, recursive statues with more building materials than the average tower and has such a short attention span that a damn fine chair can off-set the death of their entire family.

Uh... yeah, gordon isn't the only silent protagonist around ya know. Heck, a good quarter of all video game heroes never say a word.

Let's see, many of the CoD characters, probably the guy from Red Faction, Artyom from Metro 2033, X-Com agents, the Medal Of Honor characters, Master Chief, Barney from Half Life Blue Shift...
They're all silent.
And there are 3 silent protagonists that were at Black Mesa.
