I still think it's weird that no-one has found this one yet...

Quote
This is a fight to the death. For each side, the only acceptable outcome is the complete elimination of the other.

Total Annihilation.

The Core and the Arm have all but exhausted the resources of a galaxy in their struggle for domination. Both sides now crippled beyond repair, the remnants of their armies continue to battle on ravaged planets, their hatred fuelled by over four thousand years of total war...

Man, I don't know any of these others.

Quote
Nestled atop the cliffs that rise from the Sword Coast, the citadel of Candlekeep houses the finest and most comprehensive collection of writings on the face of Faerun.
And that's correct!

Your quote mentions Faerun, meaning Forgotten Realms. So, Baldur's Gate? Since the Sword Coast is also mentioned, the most likely answer then is Baldur's Gate:TotSC, or Tales of the Sword Coast. Didn't play the game, but had an anthology CD of them somewhere.

New quote:
Quote
We are Beer. You will be intoxicated. Resistance is futile.
It may be a little vague, as the joke isn't too original. This is from a side-scrolling shmup.

And the old one still stands:
Quote
Voice over radio: I should have called the Marines!
Player character: They're few, they're proud... and they ain't HERE!
It can't be such a bad game that nobody around here played it, can it?

Good :) I didn't know leaving the name out would make it that hard.

Anyway, here's another one.

Yeah, Baldur's Gate, though not necessarily TotSC. It's the first line of the Prologue narration.

Well, that was quick. Yep, JnG Gold. Now, what else can I remember...

Okay, these are usually ending a battle in this RTS game:
Quote
For... the WIND! <rumble, rumble>
For... the FIRE! <rumble, rumble>
For... the THUNDER! <rumble, rumble>
For... the RAIN! <rumble, rumble>
For... the STORM! <rumble, rumble>
It is done. <rumble, crash, scream>

Heh, very nice. Iji. And yes, Netstorm is damned hard.

Sean, you mixed up the order. It goes Wind, Sun, Rain, Thunder, Storm. That was unforgivable.

An obscure one:

Quote
May, 1945

With the Western Allies holding their positions along the Elbe, it is up to the Russians to enter the lair of the Nazi beast and put an end to its reign of terror with extreme prejudice.

In the final battle of a prolonged and bloody campaign, the future of Europe and the very soul of Germany are at stake.

Oops. Also, replaced Sun with Fire for some reason. That was bloody long ago though, and my memory ain't perfect. And yes, it was damn hard. Finest use of Tetris blocks in history though. :P (And yeah, I know it wasn't all tetris blocks, but at least two were very prominent.)

Your quote could be anything from Medal of Honor to Blitzkrieg, those WW2-themed games are all alike. Specify a genre, at least.

Here comes another, easy one:
Quote
Character 1: That was wholesome.
Character 2: Not to mention physically improbable.
