spartan's doubt was legit, ogoklogodude never stated he used a boarding *card*, he said he boarded dragontooth, he could have done it through teletransporting...or not, because the ship had it's shields up. still there was the possibility that there had been a mistake.
there wasnt, i knew as i was his captain, and the gm knew, but everyone else was left to guess

Can crew member teammates trade cards?

That's something I've been thinking about... I'm not sure if I should allow it or not as it could amount to some strangeness... Like say your on a enemy ship and the person back on your ship somehow 'hands' you a plasma grenade from the right pod.

Maybe you have to be on the same ship? Like giving a guy a grenade before he teleports away?

Hmm...

Alright, I'll allow it. Trading cards can be done between crew-members so long as they are on the same ship.

Of course, if your not a captain you can't trade for a captain card.

Question about shields and part damage:

If you attack a ship with shields, and the attack does more damage than the shields have health, does the overflow hit the ship or is it all absorbed? I'm guessing you can stagger your shots normally so you can take out a 1-hp shield with one laser and hit the ship proper with the other, but suppose a photon torpedo hits a ship with 2 shields- does the ship take 1 damage? And does that trigger the collateral damage? Or does the shield just take it all?

More importantly, can captains trade between each other?

i hope you don't get the card trading system working this turn, that'd be unfair. we'd have done more than killing an enemy cremember if we had that ability in the previous turn, or i would have fixed the bridge myself instead of having dwarfguy try to reach it.

A shield will absorb the entirety of a shot if there is overflow damage, but if there are more shots beyond the overflowing one, those will go through. Photon torpedoes do not inflict 'splash' damage if they hit the shield.
More importantly, can captains trade between each other?
Why would you? 0.o
I suppose yes so long as they are on the same ship for some reason, but shouldn't you guys be gutting each other rather than trading?

Eh... good point... Though I did put it in the rules already... >_>
